That’s not necessary. Albeit I agree, I don’t understand the obsession with someone who is there to handle the legal/compliance aspects of the operation being blamed for personnel issues.
Why her name continues coming up remains puzzling. Especially when she’s essentially taking over for...
He's a solid player. He's sort of like where Flutie was when he came back. Rourke came out of the CFL after essentially winning their version of the MVP and was a guy the Jaguars really liked until New England messed that up and snatched him on waivers. They were pretty frustrated they lost...
I do think Rourke is a bigger x-factor who could sort of complicate things. But again, that would be a better problem to have than no one emerging at all.
I've heard the comments on air about "bringing back the same players," but that's such a lazy take by the talking heads. They've brought back the guys who have been positive contributors on offense (Bourne/Henry/Onwenu) and shed the guys who haven't been (Mac/Parker).
That talk has been...
I don't know if they "screwed up." Again, I just think they're currently that team that we all hoped they'd never be in terms of being a cellar-dwellar and being an unattractive landing spot. They went above market value for a guy who will turn 30 next season and lost out because he just didn't...
Honestly, Bechton is a player who if he's motivated, would be an interesting option. But knowing his injury history (and the issues he's had with his weight), I'm assuming he's still out there for the same reason. Same with Trent Brown, whose reputation here likely isn't doing him any favors.
My guess is they're going to attack that position in the draft. The other wild cards could be Anderson or Wheatley Jr., who are unknowns coming off last year and could also factor in at tackle.
I would have to agree. I think most of us were bracing for Onwenu signing elsewhere, Dugger potentially allowed to walk, Bourne not getting extended, and Henry also potentially moving on. People likely look at those as "Meh" signings, but those are four starters they would have needed to...
Zero to do with football. That's like blaming the person who keeps the books or handled legal matters at a business when it folds due to lack of customers or poor management. Not involved with the business, other than advising the owner on those matters.
Again, people were fine with Nancy...
Don't forget, he also was a staunch defender of Mac and was critical of Patricia. Guessing that also didn't help his cause. Agree with you on the medicals. Not sure what the process was, but clearly, it didn't work out. Someone else ended up in a similar situation if I recall and ended up...
100% agree - I absolutely hated the Parker extension ... haven't been a fan of him since he got here. On the Groh situation, that's a tough one, albeit Bill seemed to deflect blame there last year, which was interesting when it came to Smith-Schuster. But I'd be surprised if he's on the team...
I don't disagree, but it still makes a big difference when you have more than one guy who can beat man coverage, which is a better spot to be in compared to where they were last year when they only had two, and then really only had one in Douglas by the end of the season.
From Reiss' Sunday column this morning:
"4. Judon's deal: When the Patriots restructured outside linebacker Matthew Judon's contract last August, which reduced his 2024 base salary to $6.5 million as some of his money was moved into 2023, it set the sides up to return to the negotiating table...
I know what you're saying, but you could flip it around and say Kendrick Bourne didn't have the same talent the 49ers had around him yet he had a career season here. Osborn's a decent player, and he's already an upgrade over who they had/have.
I hear you, but I would have to say he's an above average JAG. He's not Calvin Ridley, but he's the type of guy who can get open, catch the ball, and move the sticks, something they had trouble with all last season.
At least Osborn had two red zone touchdowns last year. DeVante Parker didn't...
