Would a Celtics title make up for it?

Then we just call them out for being chickenshiit.

i can't blame them because it's going to be quite a long time before they can have another SB.;)

Eli knows it because his brother has been waiting for the same thing. Is it funny to see 2 brothers fighting each other for a chance to meet Pats in SB.? I'm sure it's not going to be a oreo cookies contest this time.

It gives me something else to focus on, so it helps quite a bit actually. No true Pats fan will ever lose the pain of February, it still hurts to think about it (and I refuse to entertain that they will pull it off next year: technically, yes that would erase the pain, turn it into one chapter of a wonderful fairy tale, but it just ain't gonna happen so don't build it up!).

I'm a Boston 4 For Life fan, and it is wonderful to see the Celts playing so well. Last night, Pierce was truly inspiring. You couldn't script something that moving as when he came back, and the place erupted, he hits two threes in a row to give the lead back.

That said, I'm a bigger fan of the Patriots than any of the other three. I don't watch a whole lot of basketball, and haven't followed the Bruins closely since Bobby Orr's greatness waned. The Red Sox I watch usually starting 3/4 of the way in, as I frankly find baseball somewhat boring unless something is on the line like first-place or playoffs or something.

So, short answer, 'A little bit, but not completely.'

It was great to see Moss there last night!!! :)

it's too early to declare Celtics is a NBA champion. We know who will be next week. :)

It wouldn't make up for such a horrible choke job but it will ease my pain remaining from that game.

I think anyone who thinks this will ease the pain is really more a basketball fan than a football fan. That's cool, some people are like that.

I am enjoying the Celtics run from afar. Basketball seems so pointless during the regular season so I don't follow it too much. During the playoffs when games finally matter I can really get into it.

I will have fun if the Celtics win and I really hope they do but it will not make up for it. If anything it will be kinda sad to think Boston could have been the title holder in 3 major sports at the same time. Who has ever done that?

No it doesn't "make up for it." I would be ecstatic if the Celtics won the NBA championship but they are a separate team from the Patriots. What would "make up for it" is if the Patriots won a championship in 2008.

What you are proposing is like asking - would it make up for the Bruins always being a first round playoff LOSER if the other Boston sports teams all won their championships? Nope, there's still no way I'm going to watch a Bruins game as long as they don't show me something. The one time I tuned in for game 7, they crapped the bed and lost to the Canadians as USUAL.

asking again as its close to happening....

I must say, for me, a Celtics Championship, combined with the Red Sox having won the 2007 World Series, does make up for the Patriots ONLY getting to the Super Bowl.

to say otherwise would be proving beyond a doubt we are the most spoiled and ungrateful sports fans anywhere, even, dare I say, New York.

that would make 6 Championships in the last 6 years and 4 months.

puh-leeeeze.

I was watching the Patriots-Dolphins game at Miami in 2003 at Longhorns in Leominster. everybody was draggin dead as it wasd just days after the Grady Little game. When Brady hit Brown with the OT bomb we all caqme alive again.

If the Celtics pull this off they will have done the same for Boston.

At least it'll leave the haters confused.

Patriot hater: HaHa, you guys choked away a perfect season, you bunch of cheaters!!!

Patriots fan: We whooped your asses!!! We whooped everyone's asses!!!

Patriots hater: Who the Patriots? No they didn't.

Patriots fan: We're No. 1, we're No. 1!!!

Patriots hater: Who the Patriots? What are you talking about?

Patriots fan: You suck!!! Chew on that ****munch!!!

Patriots hater: Whatever.

as I said earlier What made up for the loss is what makes sports great..there is always next year. 08 is our year for redemption.

But as a side note I am really looking forward to the Celts winning so I can dog some New Yorkers. They love their Knicks in New York (but they stink). There i a pit boss in Foxwoods who gave me crap over the loss when I went down to bet away my sorrows (I won so it sorta worked). I know the guy is a Knick fan and I can't wait to give him some crap back.

Dude.

Its like if a woman see her three year old hit by a truck, but get pregnant and has another baby.

No, the new child is not a consolation prize.

Doesn't mean she hates the new baby.

Most depressing analogy ever. :(

Clearly the answer is no. 1 is not as good as 2. See how easy that is?

Whoa! lets puh-leeze not compare a sports loss with something like that.

He got 25 to life for the last person who asked him to explain his name.

But, we cool. Right, Lifer?

He must have been the driver of the truck.....now doing 30 to life for sure.

Man that was indeed, absolutely the worst analogy I have ever read.

Man, could you imagine the Celtics, Sox and Pats winning it in the same year. That would've been amazing. However, I would be willing to trade in Red Sox and a potential Celtics win for that Pats SB win. Probably because I'm not from the Boston area, but I do support their teams ever since I became a fan of the Pats. I'm just not as an avid fan of the Celtics and Sox as I am of the Pats.
