Correction domestically theres no money in soccerRonaldo got 88 million this year.
It's a team in a long transition, can't fault them tonight though, they are simply outclassed in terms of ability across the board. They can scrap all they want, the opposition is better all the way around.
MLS is so communist .... a few washed up stars get paid that's about it.Correction domestically theres no money in soccer
Jones absence is huge tonight.True, but whats the difference besides Jones from this team and the 2014 World Cup?
The US didnt look this out matched playing Germany, Portugal or Belgium

Hes a player man! Along with Dempsey and Howard my fav American player
Sure they did, Howard played out of his mind to keep them alive in those games. The US has never had the talent they have had the goalies and scrappiness to get them by. Klinsman is right that they need to take it to the next level to be a world class team but right now I'm not seeing that next 11, it's still Dempsey who is their best player and Guzan is not a world class GK. The athletic ability is there, world class players aren't. Klinsman will likely keep his job but he's got a tough road to keep it beyond 2018.

The dropoff from Altidore to Wondo is like Ty Law to Earthwind Moreland.altidore would help
Not this outclassed though Ivan. Agreed Howard saved them that WC, but the US looked like the belonged.
Tonight not so much.
Soccer is life in other countries that produce top talent. EVERYBODY plays it throughout life. I think the US doesn't have the culture yet for world class style and talent but they have been making up for that by trying to win on physicality. It's a DNA thing. Americans just don't possess the soccer gene.
Until the Dion Lewis' and Malcolm Butlers and Barry Sanders type athletes with superior quickness skip past football and start playing soccer, the USA will never elevate. Even then, the DNA just won't be there for generations.
Icy Patriot…I agree with your midfield assessment and USA Soccer's decrees of alignment. My kid's travel team had to forego creative alignments that produced wins because USA Soccer had their development beliefs. Hence ….ZERO CREATIVITY>>>USA STYLE.
American kids play for 45 minutes and get a juice cup. The Latinos live the gameSoccer is life in other countries that produce top talent. EVERYBODY plays it throughout life.
