Ian Rapoport quotes Harbaugh as saying Ravens are holding Monroe out of minicamp as a "precaution" because teams are "inquiring about him".

Monroe believes the team is trying to distance themselves from his advocacy for allowing players access to medical marijuana as as alternative to narcotic painkillers.

The Ravens have proven to be worthy adversaries to the Patriots but this kind of backward thinking is once again casts the cavemen running the NFL is a bad light.

Ravens sitting Monroe while they try to trade him

Monroe tweeted last the week that the “Ravens continue to distance themselves from me and my cause.” He’s been an outspoken proponent of the NFL removing medical marijuana from its list of banned substances.

Interesting.

BB and Ozzie go back to their Cleveland days and have a good relationship.

Monroe's right that the NFL should take MMJ (and MJ, period) off the controlled substance list. That said, though I'm hesitant to put anything past the morons at the top, he's also barely played in the past two years due to injury, the Ravens drafted a tackle in the 1st round, and he's scheduled to cost $8.7m against the cap this year and $9m the next two years. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were trying to trade him for reasons that had nothing to do with his advocacy.

A Raven trying to change the rules, what else is new?

No really he's right though. Weed isn't cheating.

I'd love to trade for him, but those cap hits for the next 3 years are deal-killers.

Suspect they're worried he will eventually fail a drug test.

I heard that their relationship is a bit strained now. Has something to do with the BS rule changes.

Trying to remember where I read or heard that.

injuries.......he's a dented can

If you suck on a tit the movie gets an R rating. If you hack the tit off with an axe it will be PG.

until it's federally accepted you can't. it would provide specific clubs unfair advantages.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the "expectation" is the Ravens will have made a decision on LT Eugene Monroe by the end of the day Thursday.

He could be cut

C'Mon guys, there's no way a high quality player will be cut because of a position on MMJ. Now, a borderline player, sure, it might play a factor. But there's got to be some other primary reason for them to dump him.

welp hes been cut.

He'll probably make too much for the Patriots to be in on him, and this has "Monroe to the Giants" written all over it, but....

Bring him in for a look.

Well, here's hoping he clears waivers and can then be asked to sign for a reasonable price. I'm guessing he will still be too expensive what with our need to get money to 3 or 4 of our own guys.. but still, clearing waivers is the most likely chance we have of getting him imho.
