Yeah. I get the impression that the judges other than Katzmann were all-in with the media description of "this thing is a stupid waste of time for the federal judiciary" and didn't bother to actually put in any prep time on the case.

Its the NFL's fault that the case was even brought to them. They should have hammered them if they thought their time was being wasted here.

I agree with the Hillary part of your analysis. However, this is not a right wing/left wing, Republican/Democrat kind of issue. You'll note that the one dissenting appeals court judge was the sole Republican appointee on the panel.

[Edit: This post has been corrected. The dissenting judge was a Clinton appointee.]

Very true, although I'd be shocked of Sanders appointed a judge that he didn't know for 100% certainty was union friendly... but he won't be president anyways so it doesn't matter

Trump is a good friend of Brady and Belichick, so he could potentially help influence a favorable decision

I also realize how sad it is that I'm thinking about presedential candidates and their supreme court appointees strictly from a pro Brady viewpoint lol

As pissed off as I am both are very likely if Brady decides he has had enough of this ********. And if Garrapolo plays well his value skyrockets after the season and a first rounder will be the requirement not the hope.

Although I still want Brady to keep fighting I would be fine with him holding a press conference where he denies any wrongdoing and lambastes Goodell and says he is filing a huge defamation suit.

Brady will appeal. He will sit 4 games. (we will be fine)
His legacy will be fine, long and short term.
Basically what the court says is the NFL had the right to do wrong.
(and its not even unanimous)

Don't read Ian Gunn (@IanPGunn) | Twitter because you'll only get more enraged as Gunn points out how the majority blatantly misunderstood multiple facts and arguments in the case.
In your opinion, does that hold any sway over whether a rehearing en banc is any more realistic? I.e. the dissenting opinion is the chief justice of the 2nd circuit and the majority decision was built on faulty logic, so the chief justice will push for a rehearing to get this on the table in front of the entire circuit?

God I hope so...

Just because the chief judge was on the losing side does not mean he will push for a re-hearing.

It really says something about this country's justice system that justices on that high a court don't even understand what they are ruling on. It's really pathetic.

The worst thing about this decision? We're now guaranteed a lengthy football strike when the current CBA expires.

Wait, maybe that's a good thing. Never mind.

I am rooting for this.

I want a season long strike.

In fact, I want to see the players make a new league.

The NFLPA and Bob Kraft need to come out with a fire under their ass after this.

The NFLPA, yes
Brady, yes

Kraft? Do you really want him to fake outrage about the victory that he and his 31 business partners just secured?

Would love to see tommy kick ****dell and kraft right on the balls and say adiós amigos. Seriously he doesn't have to put up with this douchery

wouldnt blame him at this point. it's going to tough for him to sit around for a month alone waiting to play. but im sure gisele will make him a feel a little better

Portnoy just looked at his bank account and laughed in excitement.

Those "Free Brady" shirts are going to fly off the shelves....

Exactly. Kraft is pleased with this outcome. He has to pretend he's upset because a large portion of the fans won't accept anything less, but it's all business to him and this case was management vs. labor. He was on the winning side.

They are all political hacks! You don't become a federal judge without first lining the pockets of whoever is currently occupying the White House. Now if you get appointed to the appealant level, then you are really in deep. These decisions were made by law clerks, most likely summer interns, the judge basically tells them yea or nay and lets them do the writing. If you think that any of them spent more than five minutes on this case, your dreaming.

The fact that this mis justice is back on is ridiculous! If I'm Brady I either sue for defamation and drag everyone through the mud or retire.

I hope Tom Brady Sr calls into a radio station again and goes on another rant.

Brady's lawyers really blew this one. He must be livid.

I think that's the point being missed. The Lawyers for Brady did not go after Goodell and the NFL with both guns blazing (at least as I observed it).

This is chilling to workers vs management. A sham by management is A-Ok according to the judges. I have no problem with a jusge adhering strictly to the law, however, if you have to state Goodell was fair in your ruling to justify the law? You are already working under erred logic...

The only thing we can be sure of is it's not over.

Not sure what happens next legally.

One fan had an interesting comment: today's ruling could be the difference in a strike over the next CBA. Imagine a missed season because the NFLPA draws a line in the sand on Goodell's discipline authority and CTE. Could it be like the baseball strike in 94' with a loss of fans?

Most of the haters are brain dead... just read the comments from Facebook users on the nfl.Com article, like 98% of them this this is proof of Brady's guilt and proof that the Pats are cheaters

Facebook/YouTube/Twitter/Yahoo commenters are like ants with a .1 IQ. Just as useful as you think they are.

You are correct. Robert krafts team won this appeal.

I can't wait to see how Kraft tries to dance his way out of it this time around....

Will there be another press conference a few days before training camp again, where he apologizes for "putting his faith in the league" again? All so he won't get booed...
