The reason he's in prison is his uncontrollable hate for people who aren't 100% complimentary and supportive of him. There's obviously a football exception to that generality, or else he'd never have done well on a team coached by BB and QBed by Brady. But otherwise, that attitude seems to be root of his grave troubles.
