Dan Fouts...

If you just listened to Fouts and then watched the game on mute, you would have been wondering which game he was talking about.

That's one of the huge pluses of actually being at the game instead of watching it on TV. I don't have to listen to all the bull5hit. I can only imagine how unbearable it must have been last night to those who watched it on TV.

CBS waited till the playoffs to give us their worse commentator--Fouts should not even be on local radio.

And does he apologize after the refs are shown to be correct?? No way.

Will he be doing the SB?

Loved when he was complaining about Nink's hit on Smith which was totally clean - "that ABSOLUTELY should've been roughing the passer!"

Then there's a pause, and he says "well apparently Mike Carey doesn't agree with me - well, he never played the position!"

Oh, okay, so apparently being a former ref doesn't qualify you to determine what is or isn't a penalty, you actually have to be a former quarterback to really know what a penalty is.

DF is such a deuschcanoe. My wife thought I was going through an exorcism after that play because I was screaming such jibberish and curse words at the TV.

Nope . simms. (Be careful what you wish for). Thats the reason i like collinsworth and michaels. They are better than the rest of the top line crews.

Thing I don't get is how Greg Gumble goes from being the #1 announcer on CBS to behind Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts....

Yeah. Collinsworth takes the occasional gratuitous shot at the Patriots (as he did towards the end of last year's SB), but, by and large, he's informative.

I now know the right shoulder pad is actually the crown of the helmet.
How could that 2 man booth be one of CBS's top 2 announcing teams.

If I had my way...a one man booth consisting of only play by play. The rest is just filler......crappy filler.

He seemed really not for the pats. Calling "that should have been a penalty" numerous times...like it actually bugged him personally

Usually he's not like that when he does pats games

Aside from some over the top Peyton praise I really don't have a problem with Simms/Nantz. I feel like no matter who they throw in the booth people are going to complain they suck and the first compliment they give the other team they now hate your team.
That's because they almost universally DO all suck.

Fouts Delusion Syndrome: Subconscious tendency to elevate occupants of his former division to legitimize his status while demonizing their opponents. I would refer you to Merril Hoge but he consciously elevates and demonizes

Dan used to be a QB. You would think that he would know that every play is drawn up to be a touchdown.

Fouts is a horrible commentator. The worst, though, was on the first drive, when he said the pass to LaFell was uncatchable despite the fact that it hit him in the hand while he was being held.

Those announcers were about what I'd expect for backup announcers to a preseason High School division III game in Canada. Just...awful.
The in Canada got me cracking up. Great post man!
