I don't really care how Seattle is doing. I don't mean that in a negative way, I just don't think about it. Just like I don't think about what Vikings fans are thinking. It just doesn't register.
But I don't understand all the Seahawks hate. They built a good defense, drafted well for a while, benefited from a good QB on a rookie contract, won a Super Bowl, almost won another. Now guys get paid, weak drafts catch up, they made some mistakes, and they have to re-build some parts of the team.
This is life in the NFL without the GOAT HC, GM, and QB.
The Ravens won in 2000 with one of the greatest defenses of all time, but only made the playoffs 2 of the next 4 years. The Bucs won with another all-time great D, then didn't make the play-offs for the next two years.
And this affects even the great old franchises. The Steelers won in 2005, missed the play-offs the next year, won again in 2008, then haven't come close. The Giants...I don't want to talk about, but they aren't that competitive annually.
The Saints had a nice run, making the play-offs the next 2 seasons after winning it all, but they're all-in on a rebuild now after missing the play-offs 3 of the past 4 seasons.
Very few teams are ever competitive year in and year out, and just because the Seahawks aren't doesn't make them failures. It just makes them a good NFL team. To expect anyone to do what we've done is absolutely ridiculous.
The closest right now might be the Packers, who have had 6 winning seasons in a row, with a potential 7th this season. They have one of the best in the game at QB, yet only 1 SB win, and a 2-4 record in the play-offs since.
I have nothing against the team, who has been very gracious in defeat and complimentary of our guys, while also defending Brady during Defamegate when few others would. Their fans might be why everyone hates them since they're pretty whiny and obnoxious. You guys won a Super Bowl. You should enjoy it. You may never win another one again. That might have been it. And rather than enjoy and cherish that moment, they're complaining they're not like the Patriots.
Nobody is.
