OT: We broke the Seahawks' spirit

They also received a gift call against the Cowboys (I do not remember the specific play) and only won 13-12
One of their wins was against Jimmy clausen

Honestly, I don't think the Seahawks are that bright. They trade away one of the best OL in the league for a tight end who can't block to play on a team that primarily runs. They are trying to make Russell Wilson into some superstar when in reality he's just a game manager and they have no clue whatsoever how to use Graham.

Brilliant!

Seahawks fans still think Lynch would have ran it in for a TD if they gave him the ball. Earth to delusional Seahawks fans, Patriots D stuffed Lynch on a 3rd and short earlier in the game when the pats loaded the box.

And iirc Lynch was 1 for 6 in goal to go situations last year including just being stopped the play before.

Seattle's O is not even as good as the last couple of years -- and even then it was only pretty good (coupled with an excellent D made for a top team).
Keep in mind in the AZ game 14 points was gifted to Sea. The O was responsible for 18(19 if you count missed PAT) on its own. Right now, basically, the Sea O can generate up to around 20 points. So unless the D or STs kicks into that point total (or the O outperforms its normal), the D must hold the other team to under 20. I think we can all see that their D is no longer 'doom' and isn't going to bail out the O like it frequently did in the past. Take away the laughable Os of SF, Detroit, Romo-less Dallas? Their D is giving up in the 27 range.

The formula just doesn't add up right now for Seattle. Either the O is going to get better or the D is going to get better else these guys will be making the playoffs because of a backing in tie break and too many lousy teams.

The Hawks are my new #2 most hated team (after the Jets), splitting that spot with the Ravens and Steelers.

There are just too many teams ahead of them. Rats, dolts, rat birds, any Jeff fisher team, the forehead, little forehead

Seahawks built up a strong nucleus of the team, but last couple of years its seems Carroll was all for trading for big name/big money players (Harvin,Graham)

Meanwhile a lot of the homegrown talent were still on rookie contracts. Since, they've paid Sherman, Chancellor, Thomas, Wilson (who's ridiculously overrated) signed Bennett and Avril. Chancellor already held out, and even missed 2 games, Bennett was talking about wanting to be traded to Atlanta last off season, they deal with Lynch threatening to retire for the last couple of off seasons, which leads to them ponying up more money, and you have a locker room, from all reports that hate their QB.

Again and ive said this for years already, most teams only have a 3 at most 4 year window, then you really have to start dealing with team issues. Seattle done a piss poor job of it.

Just wait until next season when they are paying Wilson and Lynch $30 million combined. That's really going to break their spirits.

They haven't looked good thus far, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see them compete for a WC spot. As a matter of fact, I fully expect them to.

Problem for them is that it's getting crowded over there with teams like Green Bay and Atlanta, so that lessens their chances at getting in.

I don't really care how Seattle is doing. I don't mean that in a negative way, I just don't think about it. Just like I don't think about what Vikings fans are thinking. It just doesn't register.

But I don't understand all the Seahawks hate. They built a good defense, drafted well for a while, benefited from a good QB on a rookie contract, won a Super Bowl, almost won another. Now guys get paid, weak drafts catch up, they made some mistakes, and they have to re-build some parts of the team.

This is life in the NFL without the GOAT HC, GM, and QB.

The Ravens won in 2000 with one of the greatest defenses of all time, but only made the playoffs 2 of the next 4 years. The Bucs won with another all-time great D, then didn't make the play-offs for the next two years.

And this affects even the great old franchises. The Steelers won in 2005, missed the play-offs the next year, won again in 2008, then haven't come close. The Giants...I don't want to talk about, but they aren't that competitive annually.

The Saints had a nice run, making the play-offs the next 2 seasons after winning it all, but they're all-in on a rebuild now after missing the play-offs 3 of the past 4 seasons.

Very few teams are ever competitive year in and year out, and just because the Seahawks aren't doesn't make them failures. It just makes them a good NFL team. To expect anyone to do what we've done is absolutely ridiculous.

The closest right now might be the Packers, who have had 6 winning seasons in a row, with a potential 7th this season. They have one of the best in the game at QB, yet only 1 SB win, and a 2-4 record in the play-offs since.

I have nothing against the team, who has been very gracious in defeat and complimentary of our guys, while also defending Brady during Defamegate when few others would. Their fans might be why everyone hates them since they're pretty whiny and obnoxious. You guys won a Super Bowl. You should enjoy it. You may never win another one again. That might have been it. And rather than enjoy and cherish that moment, they're complaining they're not like the Patriots.

Nobody is.

There was a lot of talk last week about how Coughlin had the blueprint to beat the Patriots..

Fans often forget that we provided a pretty good blueprint on how to beat Baltimore, Indy and Seattle the last three opponents we faced on the run to SB 49...

Baltimore 2 & 7
Indy 4 & 5
Seattle 4 & 5

These mighty, mighty teams including the one with the best defense ever have combined records of 10 wins and 17 losses.. deflate that m... er.

It's just how it goes on the NFL, they still have a good defense but their offense stinks, they survived scoring around 20/23 points per game and keeping opponents under this range for 2-3 years but now teams have figured that out. Instead of unlocking that defense they learned how to keep them under this scoring range and then eventually their defense will not be able to sustain that level of excellence for a long time. A team cannot survive with their QB creating plays out of nowhere, this is good, but if you don't have a playbook and players capable of executing it, then it's a mess.

I don't think they screw up the cap signing their players, you do what you gotta do, if they are 4-5 retaining their key players, they could be 2-7 taking another approach. There are different ways to build a roster not only the Patriots way. Everything must fit a context.

What seems wrong to me, and it's only my impression, it's that they don't have the locker room and kind of leadership that the Patriots have, so they are much closer to an implosion and become dysfunctional than the Pats will ever be under BB, and they are showing signs of this since last year, before their playoff run. They built a defense full of bad-asses trash talkers and Pete gave them a free card to be aggressive and mean, when things are going well then it's all good, let's see how they will do in the next games, nothing indicates they will improve because they are not a victim of a tough schedule or bad luck, they are right were they belong right now, middle of the pack in the NFL.

I love how much Butler jumping the route and the ensuing overreaction about the play call being a pass continues to rip the Seahawks and also their fans apart. Recently I watched a few minutes of a Seahawks game where Lynch lost yards on a few rushes in a row and it really made me laugh. JUST GIVE LYNCH THE BALL, IT'S A GUARANTEED TD, lol. That team and their fans could really benefit from an "On to Cincinnati" type attitude rather than wallowing in the aftermath of one play.

Seattle seems to have among the most knowledgable fans. Their message boards in general are a cut above.

Which message boards are your referring to? HawksNet is freakin' pathetic, my visits there have not been pleasant.

I feel for them

2007 did the same thing to me, then Brady's knee game one

Football wasn't normal for over a year after that game, and even then...

There are just too many teams ahead of them. Rats, dolts, rat birds, any Jeff fisher team, the forehead, little forehead

Yeah, Colts are far and away my #1 these days, I've loved watching them suck all year. Jets are down to #2 temporarily, and nobody else is particularly close to them. On years where they aren't so bad and Suggs was playing, the Ravens would probably be up there, and the rest of the AFCE probably should be too. They're all well ahead of Seattle.
