NFL Essentially Raided Gillette Stadium Last Week...And Came Up Empty

Ian Logue

The NFL has said in the past it doesn't review accusations by other teams it doesn't deem reasonable, but last Sunday they apparently felt strongly enough to come into Gillette Stadium and perform a search before the contest, while also interrogating team

Thanks for the article, changed my thinking on it. At first I thought it was just laughable, but really, this is about the NFL continuing to attempt sting operations and hugely concerning considering they didn't need any actual wrong doing last time to impose penalties.

Y'know, as this goes on, I continue to, at first, get upset at the blatant attempts by these fools to find any kind of wrongdoing they can, only to come up empty every time. Then, I realize that, as long as this keeps going, it focuses the team, the coach, everyone really, as to who their enemy actually is, here. Also, I believe that as each report comes out of the continual harassment of this team, at the expense of the 31 others, the Pats continue to come out looking better and better, and the Goddellites, worse and worse. That can only help, both now during the season, and when the appeal is heard in court.

This is living in a totalitarian police state, basically.

Take notes BK. This is what happens when you don't fight even though you are innocent. It makes them more bold and I wouldn't doubt for one second that someone in the future will plant evidence to screw you even more. When are you going to stand up and say enough is freaking enough?

Well, that's an assertion. It may be true. It may also be true that if you start making too much noise, they double down on their efforts to screw you by any means possible. You just don't know.

It's amazing that no one can accept that having a superior coach and a superior QB is all you need to destroy everyone else. No cheating necessary.
The push to mediocrity continues

The NFL front office hunts the Patriots like pallid teen addicts looking to loot the local CVS to score some Molly before the high school dance. As usual, they go home with their little Rogers in their hands.

At some point, the Patriots should hire half a dozen young lawyers who look like meatheads and give them a fairly large travel budget and the following instructions:

Travel to other NFL cities, on and off the Patriots schedules, and do odd things near other team facilities such as sit in a chair on a public street corner in Pittsburgh and place vibration monitors on the sidewalk, or buy tickets to a game and take copious notes or walk through hotels that teams are staying in. Do all of that and do nothing illegal, hell, have the batteries out of your camera/phone/monitors etc but just look weird... Feed the paranoia legally.....

Foreign service officers who work overseas are sometimes told to find a couple of random quirks to emphasize just to mess with foreign counter-intel efforts. It could be wearing purple hats on Tuesdays and blue hats on Wednesday while going to Cafe X and Y. And then switching hat color days and cafes, sit for 10 minutes and then go. Nothing wrong with that, but who knew if it was a signal or not.

Mess with the league's head and document that nothing is actually happening besides a mind ****.

You may be right. I may be misdiagnosing the situation.

I assume the NFL is acting like a bully and appeasing a bully does not work.

It could be more of a jilted lover or something. I don't think so, but the possibility exists.

Right, because going completely passive when you've been bullied repeatedly always stops the bullying.

If anything the bullies are MORE motivated, having LOST humiliatingly in court with the suspension and now seeing the Pats ravage the league again as their worst nightmare. WHAT would be their motivation to stop? What has happened since this latest attempt at the Jets game that will make them stop????

They've already "doubled down" on their efforts.

"Making too much noise" isn't going to affect anything one way or the other.

For me, the ultimate scene would be:
Pats win Superbowl 50
On the podium, the Superbowl trophy becomes more of a gift exchange between Kraft and Goodell (I know it would never happen), Goddell presents the trophy and the Krafts presents a bag full of cell phones and pretend listening devices.

unless Kraft does something to stop this nonsense, this is not going to stop. sadly, both are not going to happen.

You guys have a lot more faith than I do that it couldn't get worse. They haven't (yet) started planting things as far as we know. Or doctoring drug tests. Or any of a number of worse things they might do.
