6-4" Brandon Marshall, 6-2" Eric Decker.

Going up against

5'11" Malcolm Butler and 5'11" Logan Ryan

The 12-14 corners had 6-2" Talib and 6-4" browner to match up on good tall WRs

The 08-11 corners did not, which is why they would frequently get dominated by fades and jump balls

I am worrying that Logan Ryan and Malcolm Butler could become victims of physical mismatches, especially against Marshall

I believe the patriots should draft or sign a good 6'1" + long armed CB whenever one becomes available

Don't worry, they also have riverest river-boat gambler that ever did live, throwing the walking giants passes.

If you're worried about Decker vs Ryan, you should go rewatch the 2013 regualr season game vs Denver. Ryan shut down Decker and came up with an INT that game. Decker was catching passes from a HOF QB who was still playing like it. He'll be catching passes from Fitzpatrick on Sunday.

As for Butler, he did well against Allen Robinson who is 6'3. Robinson is no Marshall, but he's pretty damn good.

Don't worry, we got Logan Ryan

I'm really like Butler vs. Marshall. Just a hunch.

That size isn't going to matter if the Patriots dry hump Fitzpicksix up and down the field. Multiple INT's will be coming the defense's way. Chris Ivory is the guy that worries me the most on their offense.

Ryan was destroyed in the playoff game. So was Arrington for that matter.

A pass rush that took 23 minutes to get to the Qb didnt help.

Some of the best corners to ever play the game have been under 6'. Ty Law. Otis Smith. Darelle Revis. Lester Hayes. Darrell Green. Rod Woodson.

The key to defending the fades, now, is to get under the receiver, catch them and push them out of bound without letting their feet touch in bounds..

Malcolm still is learning his game but there is no denying 3 things.

1) He is an elite tackler. The tackle in the 3rd qtr on Moncrief when he starts from the far hash and catches him just as he is turning up the near sideline for the 1st down was elite.

2) He is a scrappy, pain in the ass.

3) Maximum effort. Fast. Fast. Fast.

I think the INTs will come. Hes almost always in the position to make a play.

The entire game plan was pretty much thrown out the window when Talib went down.

Yea IIRC they went mostly zone and when Ryan and Dennard tried to go man they kept getting caught in those goddamn pick plays.

Decker doesn't worry me as much as he maybe should. Ryan actually matches up pretty well against him, especially if the QB isn't accurate enough to consistently hit him high in stride downfield. That matchup will leave us vulnerable to back shoulder throws and fades, but for every one of those that Fitzpatrick hits, I could easily see the next being a turnover.

Marshall is definitely a concern though. On raw talent, he's among the best in the NFL, so these brief-ish spells when he comes to a new team before he can melt down and destroy the locker room are a real threat. Butler will have his work cut out for him.

The Pats need to unleash the pass rush against the Jets.. That's going to be the best way to stop them. The 3/4 man rush won't cut it.. They need to go 5/6 man rushes with Collins and Corner/Safety blitz..

The height in combination with Fitzy throwing ? come on. They r the J E S T . :p

I'm more worried about Fitzpatrick scrambles. He is fast like a gazelle and elusive like a .....hiccup, excuse me.

The height difference will affect a few plays but it won't have a significant impact on the impending beatdown.

Besides, if it becomes a major issue...the DB's can always switch to their Frankenstein platform cleats.

No worries, BB will put Jamie Collins at CB.

He may be green, but the Pats did just sign melvin who's 6'2"

The best way to help our corners is to get a good pass rush on Fitzpatrick and hit him early and often!!!

Yes, but what if the pass rush fails? Need a backup plan. Plus they can't get to the QB every snap

Jones Easley Sheard are the most talented pass rushers we've had in many years on the D Line
