I was watching NFL Gameday to catch the post game press conferences since the station that sometimes carries 5th Quarter wasn't showing it and when the botched punt came up Faulk said it must of been a Patriot who said "hut" to get the Colts to snap the ball. Oh Marshall, your bitter tears still taste so good 13 years later...

That was actually Michael Irvin's theory.

I hate Marshall with a passion.

For some reason i love Michael Irvin and if it wasn't for him i wouldn't watch the NFL network pre-game show.

deion sanders said the same thing......not sure why anyone would see this as a bad thing

I wouldn't know that this happened. I cancelled that ****bag network after America's Game aired and I recorded it.

I think the biggest difference between Sanders/Irvin and whiny is they appreciate hard work and passion for the game. There was an interview Irvin gave once about how his first year in the cowboys after a loss he was devastated and almost in tears and guys were joking around like no big deal we still got paid. He went to the coaches and was this guy that guy and that guy HAVE to go if we are ever gonna win. For as much as a clown and on air personality as Michael is he worked HARD on his craft and had a driving desire to be the best. Same with Sanders IMO. Faulk on the other hand got by on crazy quicks and moves, more instints and natural talent and to this day believes in paper athletic ability should always win. He truly does not understand good coaching and superior excecution matter more than who can run faster. That is why he hates the patriots so much. More often than not they do not have the superior team on paper and it fries his puny little brain every time the on paper better team loses. Its just not the way it's "supposed to be" in his world view.

Yelling hut by the defense is a penalty. Yelling hut and getting away with it is gamesmanship.....unless the Patriots do it then it's vile cheating.

Yup.

It was just speculation on their part — and I'm sure the Colts would have pointed fingers immediately if that happened (didn't that happen with another team this season? Maybe the Steelers?).

Still, they did just mention it in passing, for which I give them credit. I expected an innuendo-filled tangent to follow, but it didn't.

Plus the Rams thought 2001 was gonna be the year they became the next dynasty. Next thing you know their dreams are torn away by some 6th round QB and co and they turn around and create a dynasty of their own. Marshall goes to sleep every night dreaming about what could have been.

The funny thing is that the play was (apparently) designed never to actually have the ball snapped. Or maybe only snapped if the defense encroached the neutral zone. So why would the snapper even care if someone said 'hut!' on the line?

Why subject yourself to slow drip water torture?
I recommend:
Turn on TV one minute before game starts....turn off TV when game is over.......and live a normal life the other 21 hours on game day. Golf, jog, read, have a go with your partner....anything but NFL "filler"....
One minute spent viewing pregame / post game boobery is one minute too many. If 3 hours isn't enough, DVR the game and review the actual tape instead of relying on prejudiced boobs with axes to grind.

I can't be certain the Colts would have been pointing fingers, would require they know of that rule, and in particular, that the Colt's special team players know that rule (I confess I was unaware of the rule myself).

Still holding out hope that a Pat yelled it.

The thing of it is, you can plainly see the "QB" in the play tap the "center"'s butt & he half-assedly snaps the ball. Bolden is just standing there, ready to tee off, not saying anything. LOL Marshall you tool. It's plainly obvious that although the Pats had never seen that particular formation before (and I imagine no one will ever see it again), they have been coached to: 1) stay behind the line and don't jump off sides; 2) line up with your man (that's what all the pointing was about on the Pats side) and; 3) be ready to go if the ball is snapped. Don't expect your coaches to bail you out with a TO (although I imagine BB would have called one if the Pats were really messed up by the play, which they weren't, because they'd beeen taught 1 & 2).
