Is Pierre Thomas cooked? Can't believe he's still a FA...

I think he'd be a good camp singing.

In terms of things to worry about, Running Back is near the bottom of the list.

They can always find some guy off the street to get a couple of carries if they need to.

Mike Cloud--all day long, baby!! ;)

Wish they could have kept Vereen somehow, complimented Brady and the passing game so much.

Me too. He was a weapon in NE and had a great SB. But he got paid, as he should, and NE just doesn't care that much about RBs, even pass-catching ones. Let's see how Cadet does.

But let's not forget how often people here complained about him, too. Whether it was his running style (many referred to him as Ben Vereen) or how he always had trouble catching the wheel route.

If one of these guys goes out there tonight and successfully executes a wheel route, this board will explode.

Anyone know when we'll find out if Gaffney was claimed or not? Hopefully by this afternoon, right?

If he wanted a fair salary, he'd be in Houston right now.

This is one more sample in the population of young players claimed off IR waivers who never contributed, along with Jake Ballard.
We often have hopes for them, but I'm not aware of a good example of a player who overcame this.

Finding a nobody running back is almost part of the excitement of the game these days.

Reminds me of Heath Evans in his first game against Miami looking like a Rhino.

Or Gray, coming off the PS, putting 201 yards on the Colts.

And, uh, those other guys in those 9 years in between.

Felt like we never knew the guy what a shame...move on now there is nothing else here to see.

He seems to me to be Gray or Blount insurance next year

Chris Johnson, Pierre Thomas, Knowshawn Moreno are still out there personally I think any of those guys can help us.

It's just frustrating that after all this time he can't get healthy. I had high hopes for him, he looked good at Stanford.

I agree, all three would be good signings. Is Moreno still suffering from an injury though, or no? And CJ?K is obviously a knucklehead... Thomas seems like the wisest choice, but with his Houston visit, it seems like he wants too much dough.

Team just announced he was placed on IR, means no put in a claim.

TBH I think we are fine at RB.

I think there could be a few cut RBs in the coming weeks that we may take a fancy too

Sure, White is an awesome 3rd down back. ????
I think Cadet will do fine. I think Lewis makes the team over White.

Blount and Gray are fine.

Eh.

Vereen was a good, not great, pass-catcher out of the backfield with good, not-great speed. He was a below-average to average pass blocker, and was a terrible runner between the tackles. He also only played in about 2/3 of his games (42 out of 64), so he's not very durable either.

You can keep him for $3mm/year. No thanks.

At no time can I classify anything Shane Vereen did as "great" and be honest with myself about it.

He did have a very good Super Bowl, but they didn't cover him very much either - and it's not like he broke one 40 yards or something.
