Breaking: Mort Backs Out; Dennis Claims Kensil As the Source ofthe Bad Numbers

Anyone connected with ABC/ESPN, FOX, CBS, NBC won't be honest about this frame job.

Why?

They are business partners with the league they will stick by Goodell and the[
Then I expect Sedano on ESPN to be fired soon. He ripped the NFL for deflategate yesterday saying what many of us have also said. His points:
1) Wells said in his press conference that Brady was fully cooperative but Goodell punished him for non-cooperation.
2) Wells said he didn't want Brady's phone but then Goodell punishes him for trashing something that wasn't necessary
3) Brady gave the info to reconstruct the phone but the NFL was too lazy to follow up.

Either he went off the reservation and will be reined in soon or maybe the loons at ESPN think they can get more listeners by trashing the league....Likely the first one..

Yes, and I got the impression he was going to name another source or two. He already said Gardi was in the building.

The much, much more important question will be if Mortenson states this himself, otherwise it isn't really anything that we didn't know.

I doubt Mortenson reveals his source under any circumstance, but if he would that would be the biggest positive that we've had---and by far.

As far as I know, no such law exists. A journalist can be punished by the government for refusing to name a source. In fact, they are supposed to be willing to go to jail instead of give up a source.

It goes without saying none of the above will be happening here
The journalist is covered by the 1st amendment.

In New York (where Mortensen presumably was when he got the story, and where the court hearing is), there's an additional, stronger Press Shield Law which makes a contempt citing by the court on a journalist incredibly rare.

The journalist has to be covering up for a source who has (probably) committed a crime, or is a material witness to a crime, and even then, in NY, there are other standards to cross.

No one here is being charged with a crime.

Chris Mortensen will never have to reveal his source in court, or anywhere else if he doesn't want to.

Sorry - not listening but who told Dennis this? Mort off line?

Right now they're talking about the merits of the NFLPA's case, and how rock solid it is. Obviously they're a bit biased but I am having a hard time disagreeing with anything they are saying.

I am in GREECE, I use Hidemyass(dont remember the cost), which gives me an ip from anywhere i want, hotspot shield is Free though and you can use it to connect to WEEi, should give you a USA ip

hidemyass keeps logs for up to two years. Private Internet Access keeps no logs and is only something like $7 a month or $40 a year.

Not poor judgment at all, everyone has been wanting corroboration on the frame job for months.

He already started the other D& C thread...he didn't need to start another one just to get attention. now people have two threads about this morning's D&C show.

Hasn't said yet.

Lorin Reisner wrote the Wells Report, along with Jeff Pash. Reisner was the lead invesigator.

I have one thought about the move Mort and ESPN pulled...greasy, like Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys...real greasy

A ****show of epic proportions.

Feckin' way she goes, though. I didn't have much confidence that we'd get such a big break.

Dennis did not say how he came about this information.
Ok.

I think we all knew that there were a number of NFL suits in Foxboro that night. The question is why. Sting or NOP for a conference champ game?

whether he does or doesn't in the end he kinda does, ...he will feel some heat...

They said after the break they will get to "the 3 reasons the NFL is doing what they are doing"....

I don't know if they are just going to rehash things we have all been talking about for weeks, or if they have something new and legit

Why? A group of people from Long Island working in high positions in the NFL office, that's why.

He is emphasizing that the Patriots themselves had no idea the report was false, which helps explain why the Patriots were so defensive up front, such as Tom's "I don't think so" response when asked if he was a cheater.

Well, the "source" for Dennis said that there were 4 or 5 "suits" (for lack of a better term) were there, and not a single one of them said anything to the Patriots Organization (top to bottom) or the players on either side.

They legitimately allowed the entire first half to be played with "tainted" footballs. I knew that to be the case, but I was sort of hoping it wasn't.

They had a hard-on for the Patriots so badly, that they THOUGHT they were MESSING WITH THE INTEGRITY OF THE GAME FOR AN ENTIRE HALF OF A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

Didn't Dennis tweet last night that Mort had told him who the leak was..?
