Florio's figuring it out, he knows the NFL's game. What bothers me is the Dale Arnolds' that bail the minute they hear something negative even knowing the NFL has been pulling this stunt all along, then come back after a couple days. Doesn't make for compelling radio. I can't imagine how stupid F & M would have been today.

Dale Arnold?? Imagine if Mike Salk were still here at EEI...he'd have strangled himself with his bunched up panties this afternoon.

Dale is another true believer, and a SJW, so you have to take that into account when you see him lose his mind over every little thing. He'll calm down and come back to the rational world, eventually.

Hey, speaking of someone who's not-so-dearly-departed, Benz is leaving WEEI, so that's more addition by subtraction.

That's how the NFL goes about it's business. Remember when Vincent punished Brady? Remember when the NFL was called out because only Goodell could punish Brady per the CBA? All of a sudden, we are to believe it was in fact Goodell that punished Brady all along. They move the goalposts with straight up lies every statement they make.

Kinda like how Wells was conducting an "independent" investigation that the league was not a part of, despite Jeff Pash co-leading the investigation and Wells maintaining attorney-client privilege with the NFL.

Exactly. But now it's about the phone. Which is why I'm thinking his HOF status is gone. I'm not so worried about the court system. I'm looking from a media angle. So much has been lost so far. Maybe he'll get in second or third ballot but I'm afraid the NFL at long last has accomplished what Manning couldn't. Relegate TB to second tier status.

To all you who disliked my post, watch some local media. Read/watch some national media. Then go dislike again.

I hadn't disliked any of your posts...

....and then you posted this one. You were asking for it. ;)

I don't know if there is a better thread for this, but here is Goodell's opinion on the Vikings tampering with footballs and only getting a warning (from page 15 of the report):

"The conduct at issue here is also very different from the ball-warming incident in Minnesota last year, in which a Carolina Panthers ball attendant was observed warming a ball on the Vikings sideline; there was no evidence of any intentional attempt to violate or circumvent the rules, no player involvement, and no effort to conceal the ball attendant's conduct. As Mr. Vincent testified, the ball never got into the game and the matter "was addressed immediately.' "

Somehow, it's better that it was all caught on camera. That makes it okay in Goodell-World. Isn't tampering with a football circumventing the rules, regardless of motivation? If I don't realize I'm speeding or I pick up an item at a store and get distracted and walk out with it, I'm still getting in trouble, even though I was doing it "intentionally."

I can also think of an incident where a team employee was on the sideline, out in the open, violating an NFL rule, and that resulted in a significant penalty, even though the product of those actions "never got into the game."

:D At least you responded. Nothing worse than arbitrary dislikes.

Your damn right! Goody world!

Here's your "like" to counter the dislike. It's not perfect, but it was all in fun. If the dislike really bothers you, let me know and I'll undo it (The like would have to go, too, though, to be 'fair' about it).

Hell no. We cool!

So because we actually caught them doing something, we didn't have to punish them. Since we didn't catch the Patriots actually doing anything, it became imperative that we punish them in historically draconian fashion.

That's just one part of many in Goodell's response that will be shredded, if this case actually gets beyond the 'award' filing.

Where do you hear such glorious news? Now can we work on Smelger? Tonight's Sports Tonight had Gresh (decent), Felger, Volin and Tomase. Good god. Unwatchable.

It was on Dale and Holley. Here's a write up, but the transcript part is a mess:

The “B” in MFB has decided to accept a job back in Pittsburgh where he can be closer with his family. Tim Benz announces that he made the very difficult decision to leave his post at WEEI so he can return home full-time with his wife Kate.

What I want to know is: how much of this is him jumping, and how much is him getting pushed?

Awesome. Now who joins do ya think? Boy his anti Pats Venom will be all encompassing in Pittsburgh. Yikes.

I've seen Ordway mentioned as a possibility, but I have no idea. As long as it isn't another Salk/Benz type, or a Tanguay type, it's likely to be a major improvement.
