Best coach, no doubt. Best GM ? Last season was a great off season for BB the GM. This offseason ? Bad FA and sub par draft so far. Lots of sub par drafts the last 10 years.

You say that, and yet I havent seen a single study grading drafts done over a similar frame of time that rates the Patriots as anything but among the best.

And I don't think you comprehend just how high the rate of misses to hits is across the league and ALL GMs.

31 other GMs could have come in here and picked for us for the past 10 years, and none of them will have consistently beaten league averages. That's the nature of betting on humans, its a highly, highly random environment in which to conduct business.

By the end of the 2nd round, every GM has a 50% bust rate.

By the end of the third, its up to around 75%

I think you'll find that Belichick in fact, does better than the vast majority of his colleagues and he does it with the greatest handicap of all.. trading in the worst average starting position for the past 15 years of ANY team in the NFL.

I suspect a WR, OG and RB in the 4th... Also I doubt we keep all 7 picks we have left.

I don't know where you're getting this but the military recognizes 5 distinct branches. It is not "tradition" it is mandated by the Department of Defense. There is no overlap between the Navy and Marines and tradition has nothing to do with it... again, wrong thread but you can google it... yes, I'm a vet. The "Marines are part of the Navy" is a falsehood that is enforced because people think the "Department of the Navy" is the Navy...again, they are not. The "Department of the Navy" is a multi-branch organization. It is not "Tradition". The Marines are organizationally separate from the Navy..this is a fact. Look it up... not going to argue it but a simple lookup will show you this. The Maines are separate from the Navy. Again, do not confuse "Department of the Navy" with the "Navy".
Well, there's the whole Marine officers go to Annapolis (AKA The United States Naval Academy) thing.

I believe the staff has more faith in the in house o line than us fans.

Belichick just doesn't believe in investing high draft picks on interior linemen. He believes he can find a decent starting guard anywhere. I never expected him to draft a guard before the fourth round unless he loved someone in the first.

Dante is still around. He knows what's here, and what's available. The guy knows what's up.

I don't hate this pick as much as the second rounder. Not as much of a reach wif only because it's a later pick.

Rashad Greene and a couple guards would be nice

I'm not writing off Bradley Fletcher and Sheard is a beast.
It's clear we are taking boy scouts in the draft after the Hernandez fiasco I have no doubt that Kraft has requested a very small draft board.
If we walk away with one of Smelter, Diggs, Greene, Hardy, a guard a back a freak athletic defensive back.
I think BB was caught off guard that Coates and Conley went when they did.

So the Patriots have armed themselves with a very nice DT, a highly intelligent SS, an athletic freak DE/LB/TE, plus three 4ths, one 5th, two 6ths and one 7th.

I'm excited, are you?

If intelligence mattered, Ryan Fitzpatrick would be a Hall Of Famer and Gronk would be working at McDonalds

Did you not get the memo that the reign is over??

I was quite perplexed when Conley went to the Chiefs.

Such a waste of talent...

Now he'll probably be making films with those terribly designed uniforms in them instead of our proud Patriots Blue. *single tear drop falls*

He and Edelman would have teamed up and made something beautiful. Like a Star Wars film that has all the comic relief of Burger Tyme. But now we'll never know.

Thinking we have a good, what, 7 picks tomorrow?

A lot of picks left, guys.

Pats could easily get Smelter or Greene plus Tre Jackson tomorrow. And that's kind of amazing to me.

  • Agree
Reactions: TBR
I really believed Bill would take at least one FSU guy, for as much interest as he showed in their program. Greene is hopefully the guy, but I believe he would've taken him by now if he was.

Sorry, my ******* boss's last day was today so I'm an eternal optimist this weekend :D

We'll that was a complete waste of 2nd and 3rd round picks, why do I bother?

As it stands now they have done nothing to help the offense, and have a great front seven in front of clearly what s the worst secondary in football!!!!

They have a brutally overpaid 9 million dollar safety, and 4 UDFA corners!
