This pretty much fits in perfectly with my over all view of the NFL.
Tier 1 franchises:
New England.
Pittsburgh (sucks to admit)
Dallas
San Fransisco.
All have Dynasties, distinguished eras of dominance, at least 4 Superbowl titles (coincidently, even without this year, the Patriots still belonged to this tier purely on Dynasty, which is a very exclusive club.)
Tier 2 franchises:
Green Bay
NY Giants (four Superbowl rings but no dynasty)
Redskins
Oakland
Not sure where Denver belongs. Definitely not tier 1, but their Superbowl appearances make tier 2 tempting, yet they got so badly humiliated in most of them, it's also tempting to tell them to **** off on a matter of principle, and make a tier 2(b)
I had this discussion elsewhere and something I really admire about the Brady/Belichick era is how decisively it vaulted the Patriots from the pits into a towering giant even among historic all time franchises as the greatest and most dominant dynasty in NFL history.
Would be great to add a 5th ring to that.
