Idea, let's push for a red alternate jersey

Was thinking since Pat the Patriot probably isn't coming back anytime soon maybe if we stuff the suggestion box at http://www.patriots.com/fan-zone/contact-us.html they might come out with one. They'd be flying off the shelves. Something like this would be super dope

I wouldn't mind red jerseys becoming the official home jerseys.

I like the way it is right now. maybe red once a year is ok.

Whatever. Pats identity since Kraft bought the team has been Blue, White, and Silver. All our greatest moments came in those colors.

Plus, red correlates to the redcoats. Totally antithetical to the Patriots image.

That's kind of a hybrid between the current and classic looks. But even then, I would only want to see it occasionally. I may be in the minority here, but I really like the current jerseys, especially the away ones.

Thats awesome. Using the British Empire's military mobilization in the pre/post colonization of the Americas in the 1700s as an argument against using red jerseys for Pats games is sheer brilliance.

(Pssst. They're called "Patriots" as a point of historical reference. Might as well remain consistent with the image.)

There were Colinial/American regiments that wore red. Only the regiments raised specifically by the Continental Congress wore blue coats, and they were a distinct minority. Regiments raised by the various colonies were almost always done so by monied individuals who raised them, initially, at their own expense. They used whatever color cloth was available in sufficient quantity to out fit said unit, and often enough it was red, as it was easy to produce using the natrual dyes available at the time.

But having said that, I have often campaigned for a red jersey identical to the blue one. In other words, just substituting red for the French blue currently being used as the base color, then adding the silver pants and helmets.

Aw hell, let's just combine the red and blue and go purple or brown.

I know...... that argument holds no water. I'm almost certain the British didn't have red facemasks and Nike cleats.

Not when you're the world champs. Knew some would disagree but red is an awesome color. Definitely wouldn't go away from blue as main jersey that'd be bad ju ju ju. But in all fairness to the naysayers saying we lost in red we've done great in our throwbacks since Kraft brought em back.
