Regardless, Brady has apparently said that he likes the deflated ball.
Where does TB say he likes to throw a deflated ball? I borrowed this from my uncle Bob, its the answer......."Because it means Gronk scored a TD, presumably with a ball that was thrown before Gronk spiked it.'

lol okay.

Did you guys become fans yesterday? The Patriots had an undefeated season in the wake of accusations much worse than the right PSI. BB will rein them in and focus on the task at hand; navigating the noise might be his best asset outside the Xs and Os. And yet you people are having fantasies of a interleague rebellion. Ha.

wow

no rebellion here Wrath.

IMO this will not go away easy.

the front office needs to squash this now

yes i do agree that BB will use all of this as poster board material to get the team pumped.

Yeah.... You go ahead and split that hair.

Some of you are worse than the media. There's no need to play games about what Brady said, since his words aren't proof of anything.
Trolling again are we? i have no time for trolls.

If I have the timeline right, and I may not, the Colts got the ball from Brady's int in the second quarter. The score the was 14-7 or 17-7 or something like that. Then half-time and the evil Patriots had the "K-ball" switched out and had to use a godly ball after that. Disaster averted and the Colts only gave up 30+ unanswered points. Is that the argument? Why is anyone taking this seriously?

From a daily reader/lurker, who is, nevertheless highly invested in this forum:

Why hasn't anyone questioned the integrity of the game from the standpoint of the NFL and its internal processes? Specifically speaking, I'm talking about the requirement for handling sensitive matters internal to the NFL only .... vs manipulating the matter by using external media informants (Kravitz, etc.), which only serves to confuse the investigative process while fomenting public controversy. We know that the chain of events demonstrates the following linkage: D'Qwell Jackson (interception) --> ballboy --> Coach Pagano --> GM Grigson --> Owner Irsay --> NFL League Office (investigation). So shouldn't the NFL be investigating why the Colts chose to go outside this internal (to the NFL) chain, and employ the services of the media to either 1) buttress their position, 2) offset their embarrassing loss, or 3) knowingly wreak havoc on the Patriots' reputation amongst the League and its fans (before an investigative determination could even be made)? Has anyone considered the possibility that the Patriots will be exonerated, while the Colts are the ones faced with penalties and public scorn? I'm wondering why the NFL isn't considering the potential ban of Grigson and/or Irsay (multiple offender) for taking such a course of action (thereby diminishing the NFL in the eyes of its fans/clientele).
I do see this playing out where the Colts end up looking bad in the long run. The hysteria will subside at some point and more intelligent and less reactionary people will soon come to see this for what it is:

Simply, sour grapes.

The unfortunate thing is I have a hard time hating on Andrew Luck. He has to work for an ******* for an owner which not his fault. The dude's got his team to progress in each of his last 3 seasons. 2012 WC loss. 2013 Div loss. 2014 AFCCG loss. He's good and he's as bland as vanilla, but his work history shows him going in the right direction. If he can shut his owner up or actually be patient and smart enough to get the eff out of Indy he'll be better off.

I'd love to see him in the NFC somewhere in the near future. He doesn't deserve to have to work for the ****tiest owner in football.

I think it's more than just sour grapes. If everyone is talking about deflated footballs, there is a lot less chatter about your team's rapist, sulkers and recent blowout loss in the AFCCG.

Are we really to trust a chain of custody that includes a coke head owner? Really?

Maybe it was a magnanimous attempt by the Patriots to not run the score up too much? :p

They used to, but Peyton petitioned the league and they changed it because players didn't like the stiffness of the new balls.

It was a Brady/Manning bipartisan effort, actually.

The chain of custody is irrelevant. The Patriots aren't going to be convicted or acquitted on that ball. Even the NFL isn't that stupid.

It's going to come down to what sideline people saw the ball attendants do or not do and what the ball attendants say to the investigators.

Oh wow 83 Pages now, leave me no choice.

The hate and rage is boiling. If this reaches Volcanic proportions by Feb. 1 your Hawks are in trouble. If I were your side of the aisle I would be hoping this dies, and dies soon. The Patriots are used to being the undeniable favorite with mundane storylines. Unleashing this monster of a story will put Seattle directly in the headlights of a team with an attitude of destruction and leaving no prisoners and only one way to vent their anger.

The Giants in '08 dodged a true bullet as the anger had subsided after a league-wide tear unseen before. Games were over by the end of the half for m,ost of the year. Now the Patriots will be coming out of the tunnel in Glendale in a full-on bloodrage if this story persists. The media will do nothing at this point but fuel the fire with a constant questioning of them being able to win a game fairly.

I'm afraid that the idiocracy of Jim Irsay has doomed your team to an embarressing blowout. I promise to orginize and send aid packages.

It will be a interesting "media day" for the patriots.
A lot of reporters who couldn't give two poops about the NFL or sports in general will be there.
And all they know is "Patriots deflating football they are cheaters" and will blow up this question a million times to bill and brady.

I think the hope is that this is taken care of in the next couple of days, well ahead of media day.

According to the league today, they are looking at a 2-3 day window, meaning the hope is by the end of this work week.

Kravitz stated he was made aware by a "longstanding/reliable source", ostensibly within the Colts organization. Who else could be that source (so soon after the game) other than a member of the Colts or the NFL itself?? Bottom line: I think we have a systemic issue within the NFL ranks itself. Nobody should...or would...go to the media with the NFL's internal business....unless they have an agenda.

I can certainly see your point and agree with it. I just don't think anything will come from it, that's all.

Like I said before--it's sad and unfortunate, but likely true. They aren't going to decide to punish anyone on the Colts, as much as we all wish they would.

I just don't understand how this could be true. If the Patriots did manipulate the balls during the game, it seems like it would have to be systemic on the part of the Patriots. Yet, I have not heard of any other suspicions of the Patriots using under-inflated footballs. Not from opposing players, coaches, management, or officials. The only other "suspicion" is a report by Schefter that the Colts suspected them of doing the same indoors in Indy earlier in the season. If they do it indoors and in the colder, wet weather, they must do it all the time. Yet there is absolutely no indication from anyone besides the Colts that they have ever engaged in such a practice. This whole thing reeks of a false alarm or an some other explanation for an abnormal ball other than manipulation.

In all of this, I just thought of something: If someone were to deflate a football for competitive advantage, then WHAT pray tell, IS the advantage that someone would get from it???? All I've read so far is that a deflated football is much harder to throw than an overinflated or correctly inflated one. You don't get a competitive advantage, you get a competitive DISadvantage! So with that in mind...

WHY ON EARTH would you even do that, hypothetically, if you were seeking a competitive advantage?

Have any of these media geniuses even asked this question?

The Colts have a lot of experience with deflation...
