"Fatal dog attacks in the United States are a small percentage of the relatively common occurrences of dog bites. While at least 4.5 – 4.7 million Americans are bitten by dogs every year, only about 20 to 30 of these bites result in death, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).[1][2]"

Probably 4,699,000 of those bites result from trying to get the frisbee back from your dog.

This little thing hates giving back her fetch toys. Everything is tug of war.

She also growls like a maniac (much worse than this vid) when she can't catch something, all of the little kids on the neighborhood love her, especially when she's off the leash playing. I'm a menace to society with this animal!

That's why you use two frisbees. Cute dog, but he's got worse "hands" that Reche Caldwell.

OMG what have I done? Opened the doors of the looney bin with a post about a silly dog photo?

There are approximately 600 accidental shooting deaths a year in the US.

There are between 25 and 50 deaths from lightning strikes per year (and that I will not forgive).

About 40 people in the US are the victim of bees each year.
About 30 Americans are killed each year by their television, or other appliance, falling on them.

Cows kill 20 people per year, and horses another 20. Together they are as viciously deadly as bees.

There are also around 80 million pet dogs in the US, so 4.5 million bites repres

She's a lot better these days at it (video is last winter, not this), most of it is the frisbee suddenly changing direction from the wind, it'd be going going going then instantly to the ground.

Some of that's on me some the weather, plus throwing across a few back yards isn't much room to let it rip, usually i go to a JV football field with her and it's a lot more fun for us both, haha.

I thought you were going to run her full speed into the wall of that house on one of those throws!

But then again because of this picture, where their dog's feet were getting burned by the cold ground and snow, so....

We use a product that comes in a small jar called "Musher's secret." Apparently, they claim that they use it for dog's paws in the extreme cold for dog races, etc. So far, so good.

Unfortunately, our wonderful German Shepard in this avatar pic was diagnosed with cancer last week--so things have been quite sad for our family at the moment. Feels like I'm losing my best buddy.

Even more evidence that Brady is the complete opposite of Mike Vick - - not just on the field!
Those were Vick's dogs that he adopted.

I've worked in Animal Rescue myself and kudos to those that put sooo much time to get homeless cats and dogs into a home, many that will pass as purebreds.Gandhi said you can tell a lot about a civilization the way they treat their animals....If everybody neutered their pets, thousands doing pet adoptions at PetsMart and Petco would not have to happen, or large city pounds putting down 80% of the animals.

So sorry Supa, I hope you still have some time with your GS buddy. Amazing animals and I'm sure yours is as awesome as the ones I've had the pleasure of being with too.

My Aussie Shep had a cancer scare, heard the C-word when one of her anal glands was infected and hardened up, luckily for her it turned out to be nothing more than allergies.

I really hope for you and your family its some kind of false positive and if not that the dog has at least had a chance to live its life :(

I was only funnin about your dog's "hands". Those light-weight frisbees suck even in a moderate wind while the heavy ones can hurt your dogs teeth. That's why I use the Sonic Disc Flyer. It is heavy, but semi-soft, so it performs in wind and doesn't hurt their teeth. Just make sure you get the "large" one as the others are too small for your dog. They're on the expensive side, so you'll probably want to use a couple so you don't have tug-of-wars with them between throws. They're also sorta porous so it takes some effort to keep them clean.

One of my Border Collies was half Aussie. They are sweet dogs, but are a lot of work. Does your Aussie ever smile?

Dogs = four-legged manure spreaders. Dog owners think that their 'fido' is the calmest, friendliest, nicest, animal in the world just before it tears another person/child to pieces or attacks a stranger. I like dogs but dog owners for the most part are some of the most clueless people on the planet. They see their ANIMALS with being able to think like a human being and act accordingly. Figure that one out. I hope Brady doesn't regret this but I'm sure he can afford the insurance hit that owning an unpredictable ticking time bomb like a doberman, pit bull, rottweiler, and similar breeds. I also hope that a preventable dog tragedy doesn't befall the family.

Surely there are some bad dog owners - ones that ruin an otherwise fantastic animal. There are also bad parents who ruin their children...

That being said...if you spend time worrying about dog attacks....you must never get in a car...since you know...a car is 2200 times more dangerous than a dog (based on number of deaths)

PS - Supa - Hoping for the best for your furry friend!

The more you post in this thread the more I want to poop on your lawn.

Clearly the dog lovers get butthurt more than most whenever they get criticized for their poor pet ownership responsibilities. Typical.

Yes, in a way you are. We just said goodbye to our 14 year old a few weeks ago and it is still a bit raw.

Research shows that to be psychologically healthy, a human being needs several dozen positive interactions a day, providing a positive acknowledgement that reinforces our sense of well being and identity. Dogs supply over 100 a day, on average, so when you lose a dog buddy, you lose a lot of everyday emotional nutrition. There is a very real price paid.
