It's easy, and only takes a few moments. From my experience playing the game, I would simply say that the only thing going through your mind when making a tackle is how to effectively get the guy on the ground and not miss the tackle. Missing a tackle is very easy to do. To suggest that players line up a spot to hit to injure a player makes no sense to me. The game is just too fast, and the guy you are trying to tackle is trying not to get tackled.
I'm glad you mentioned the Pollard hit on Gronk. It always looked to me that he gave it a little extra 180 degree twist as they were rolling on the ground.`Bountygate` anyone?
We just saw as recently as this week Suggs try to smash Blount's legs and Ward dive helmet first at Gronk's knees. Head hunting is standard. Pollard put Gronk in a figure-four ankle submission in the AFC Championship game.
This is why, aside from injuries, we never won anything as a finesse passing team.
In the NFL you destroy or you get destroyed.
McCourty folding Welker in half will play psychological dividends if we see Denver again.

He did, and it cost us ring #4.
Pollard is certifiable scum bag for it and I don't think anyone will be crying if he got folded in half.
Also, if you remember, there was another play when BenJarvus Green Ellis lost his helmet in the middle of the play and Ray Lewis tried to go helmet to unprotected head on him.
Same game.
Yeah, I remember that one too. For a second I thought we were about to have a killing nationally televised. Can you imagine the fallout? It would have made every previous gate look like child's play.
Yup, my heart stopped for a second when I saw Lewis line him up and go for the kill shot. Thankfully Jarvus got under him.
I hate how TJ Ward tackles and I want a rule in place to prevent it. The question is does the league.
Allegedly, Ray Lewis has runs on the board when it comes to violence.Yeah, that was terrifying; even more so because it was clear as day that Lewis saw Benny's helmet came off and still lowered his head for the kill shot. It's a savage game and all, but I never expected to see anyone do something so purposely dangerous.
He tackles like a complete coward and I hope a Raider WR jumps right over him when he does it and scores a touchdown.
I hope that, during the Donkeys next game, Ward is hurt so badly that his career is over immediately.

Welker is a tough guy, so he'll probably play again. But that hit looked like it could have done vertebrae damage. Hits like that and what you say in your last paragraph are the reason why I have wanted a destroyer back there for some time. McCourty is definitely not a destroyer, but those hits do have a psychological effect.`Bountygate` anyone?
