Belichick vs. Meteorologists

Hey guys, forum lurker here! I usually don't post but I found this hilarious

The Weather Channel went temperature prediction around the league, straight up. They completely ignored the main thrust of Belichick's complaint which was that they are often wrong about precipitation IN NEW ENGLAND. If they had done that graphic, I wonder how great they would have looked.

Pretty much this. BB even said in the video "IN THIS AREA". It's known for the weather to constantly change there on the fly. Weren't they wrong anyway? They said high winds all day, I was up at 4 AM PST and I saw a blizzard going down there. Did they even predict snow like that?

Belichick is correct as the weather in Boston and the weather in Providence are different in terms of precipitation because Gillette sits at a higher elevation halfway between the cities and is not on the coast. Gillette is 257 feet above sea level and while that may seem like a small amount in terms of precipitation it is high enough when the storm is on the borderline of rain-sleet-snow and far enough away from the coast. Storms usually a bit warmer near the coast and colder inward.

Gillette is barely in the dark blue corridor on the light blue side on this map and it's
very thin in terms of miles so every storm is really touch and go for amounts of snow or rain.

Very true, however, I thought the Weather Channel clip was good/done with a level of un-seriousness and fun. I'd love to see BB come out in the Weather Channel fleece at his next PR (won't happen but it would be funny).

BB knows how to pick his fights. Weathermen suck.
