Greg Bedard is going to have some good OL talk on 98.5 from 2-4 Tues 9/23

Bedard's usually got some good inside info, sadly if this is the case then this falls on the organization as a whole for not getting a better line coach in here knowing Scar was not going to be here.

The new OL coach has had excellent success everywhere he's been, but the emphasis has always been on the run game. Don't know if he can adapt to what Brady needs. When you look at his college and pro career, his teams were tops at running the ball. He was with the Jets two or three years ago when they were pounding it, but because he was so tied to Tony Sparano, he lost his job when Sparano was fired.

I agree that DeGuglielmo seems to have been good at putting together run blocking lines. The Giants, Dolphins, and Jets all were excellent at running the ball while he was there.

What"s going on with Solder baffles. Remember his rookie year dominating Miami's pass rushing specialist his rookie year, except for one play? Now he's lost in space. He has elite size, strength, explosiveness, arm reach, and skills. Why isn't he executing? Bend your freakin' knees, Nate! Is Dante that important to these professional athletes?

I don't think Bedard likes to get involved in all the Belichick bashing stuff like jokes about Devey being a tuba player or that Gooch was a radio talk show host or all the "cap is crap stuff".

I really like Bedard, but he is a bad fit for the show especially with Mazz who seems to want to make a mockery of Bedard's time. Bedard is better suited for a show like either Gresh and Zo or Dale and Holley that is more sports and less "entertainment". I think Bedard is too straight laced and worried about his reputation as an analyst to get into some of the crap that especially Mazz does.
.

It's kind of funny though.

Gresh and Zo get stuck with having Breer and Shaughnessy and the two idiots get Bedard and Perlilo. It really should be the opposite.

His core strength is less than ideal for a franchise LT and his lateral agility is right there with his core strength. Mankins bailed him out a lot but Mankins (Shaniqua) don't live here no mo'.

“My sense was from this first practice [of the week Wednesday] was that they stayed with the group that they had. There aren’t wholesale changes right now. The idea is let’s stick with what we have and work through that communication and see how it looks at the end of the week."

Well looks like Brady might be screwed.

Top rushing offenses on the college level. 3rd in the NFL with the Jets. That's success.

You might want to take another look at both the Jets and Dolphins tenures.

From sitting behind the bench, it looked like the decision to replace Devey with Stork was DeGluglielmo's. I did not see any communication with BB but did see DeG speak with Stork. I suspect that Devey will no longer start. Personnel changes, especially on the OL, are not made lightly as they disrupt familiarity and cohesion. For this reason, I expect they will give the group that finished last game a chance for a while. If problems persist, then Fleming, Wendell and Kline are also available and have experience in the system. The talk about Incognito strikes me as far-fetched.

I agree. But Wendell and Kline are no solution long term. Both have been tried and found wanting. As spot reserves perhaps. Both of them are too tiny for their positions.

I don't accept that at all, that Brady is screwed.

That was and is Dante's Prescription too. Persevere and it will improve. BB is resolute in staying with his decisions, having made them. Playing sound Defense, and "Bend don't Break" has consistently been a BB prescription on Defense.

I was going by this article:
Jets fire OL coach DeGuglielmo: source
The Jets have fired Jets offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo, a source told The Post.
DeGuglielmo, who held the same position in Miami and came to New York with recently-fired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, will be replaced by tight ends coach Mike Devlin.

Though the line performed well this season, ranking third best in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus, DeGuglielmo became better known for his outspoken remarks and disdain for the media.

And then there's also this:

"In his tenure, the Giants made the playoffs four consecutive years, won a Super Bowl (XLII),and set a franchise record for rushing yards (2,518) and yards per carry (5.0)."

3rd in the NFL with the Jets? Oh really?

The following stats shoots Pro Football Joke Us credibility:

DeGarbageMo was the assistant offensive line coach with the New York Giants. I guess that the actual offensive line coach Pat Flaherty gets no credit whatsoever.

Do you expect people to respond to your posts?

Andre,

What's wrong? You have been a solid, thoughtful and respected poster.
Now you've been nothing but argumentative, derisive, insulting, to everyone, and frequently simply wrong.

I hope you are healthy. Get well, we all need you.
