Funny read. One of the excerpts:

Reche Caldwell: Former wide-eyed, slippery-fingered Patriots receiver. Dropped several passes in AFC Championship Game. Once had a statue outside the old RCA Dome, but it was lost in the demolition. Being considered as first non-Colt ever to be placed on Colts' Ring of Honor. In 2007, was given the key to the city of Indianapolis. Dropped it.

I almost spit out my coffee after this one

Peyton Manning: Has a hospital named after him

Tom Brady: Has a hospital maternity ward named after him

I thought it was funny, but I still feel bad for Caldwell. The guy has one dropped pass all regular season and the entire playoffs before the AFC Championship. The guy was signed to be a #3 WR and was forced to be the primary WR.

Unfortunately for him, he will always be most associated with his two drops in the AFC Championship game. If the defense didn't give up 31 points in the second half of that game, those drops would be useless. Also, the second and more famous drop really wasn't the reason the Pats lost the game since on the very next play the Pats did complete a 19 yard pass to Watson giving them a first down on the New England 40 with 31 seconds left and one more time out.

Nice read! Thanks,

I am glad he pointed out that the Colts have beaten us four of the last five times.

I will read keep that in mind as I read some of the confident Patsfan's jubliant postings on how awesome we look and how flaky the Colts look.

BTW, Kravitz is crazy if he thinks Polian is a "Lovable curmudgeon". Maybe they should ask that Jets personnel member he beat up if he feels that way.

It was more of a local inside joke. Nobody duels it out with Polian more than Bob Kravitz.

Polian refers to him on his weekly radio show as the "local pundit". :D

People also forget how great he played against the Chargers the week before. However, fair or not, people will always remember his drop against Indy.

Sometimes the easiest ones are the hardest. Caldwell probably couldn't believe what he was seeing. It is a shame that he'll be remembered like that, but it was a pretty bad f-up.

He is talented.

Too bad for his career to be stuck in India-No-Place. What? Is he in a witness protection program or something?

LOTS of good lines in there. A few not mentioned yet:

On Peyton Manning:
"When lonely, he calls Jeff Saturday and puts his hands under his longtime center's butt." and

"Currently on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Consequently, screwed."

On Foxborough:
"Used to be the home of Foxborough Stadium, the first NFL stadium to be built for less than a thousand bucks."

Regards,
Chris

Great writing. By comparison, Ryan & CHB wouldn't make it as cub reporters for the Martha's Vineyard Times.
