I have no preference regarding the issue of team D or defensive players. I don't think we should have any WR/TE or WR/RB though.

I say 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 7 Dplayers (choose 4-3 or 3-4) 4 dbacks and a big bench

But for a 12-team league, that sounds a bit high.

How about 3 Dplayers, 3 DBs, and 2 DLs to even it out?

For the bench, we'll need 1 QB, 1-2 RBs, 2-3 WRs, 1 TE, 0-1 K, 2-3 Dplayers, 1-2 DB and 1 DL...so 13-player bench?

EDIT: There's a 25-man limit, so here's what I was thinking:

-Add 1 DEF for there's 1 team defense per team
-Drop 1 DB
-Drop 1 DL
-Drop 3 BN

Also, are there any particular stats settings we want? It's a head-to-head league, BTW. I think they're all on the defaults right now.

I'd like to see a 50+ yard field goal kicked up a point or 2 from what it is now.

Everthing else looks good and I don't like therb/wr flex position either.

Is it possible to get that Special Teamer position as well? I think this would add a little excitement for when a guy like Welker or a Hester touches the ball.

I believe someone mentioned it earlier -that might have such an option for yahoo leagues.

EDIT: I checked back - he said he just modified the scoring system to include points for players that have such versatility. I think it would be a good idea

I tried to do that but got some error about selecting categories by position type.

I don't see it under the roster options.

It seemed like he explained it as a scoring option - so I think to include it the scoring system has to be modified

Right, you can change the points for a 50+ yard field goal by a kicker. But when I do so I get that error for some reason.

Oops, sorry I meant modifying the scoring format to include Punt Returns and Kick Returns - If It don't work then don't bother.

I quoted the wrong part of that text.

You guys are just getting nuts.

GRAND TOTAL 3 defensive guys, MAYBE 5, is plenty to track. Trust me. I've run a league like this (with IDPs.)

I have no problem with flex players (WR/RB). I do have a prob. w/a flex TE/WR, but could live with one.

I also have a problem with these insane, way off-brand configurations being bubbled up 10 seconds before the season. Come on now.

Keep it at least within spitting distance of a recognizable format, since everybody will NOT be watching the evolving rule committee all day tomorrow (some of us have jobs.)

They'll be done by tonight, I promise. ;)

OK, so how about 2 DP, 1 DB, 0 DL, 1 DEF, 9 BEN?

Works for me... so it's 2 dplayers of any kind, 1 required DB.... then you are throwing in a team Defense, and making a 9 man bench...

Okay, will check this out, especially what our D guys score on.

BTY, you have to set which stats score points for the IDP's yourself - I made that mistake last year in a league I was commissioner and we had a few IDP's wasting positions on the teams because they weren't able to accumulate points.

Nice catch.

So what point values do we want for the following categories:

-Tackle Solo
-Tackle Assist
-Sack
-Interception
-Fumble Force
-Fumble Recovery
-Touchdown
-Safety
-Pass Defended
-Block Kick

This guy suggests these scoring settings.

These are the scoring settings we use for defensive players in my main IDP league:

1 point per tackle
0.5 points per assist
2 points per sack
4 points per interception
2 points per forced fumble
2 points per fumble recovery
2 points per safety
1 point per pass defended
3 points per blocked field goal
6 points per defensive touchdown
