Post Game Thread- Pats @ Jets

Team needs to get healthy and play better going forward but, in the end, they got a W against a team playing in it's Super Bowl while playing sloppy and mistake-filled football. The defense is still suspect but this was their best game in the last 3 weeks.

Agree. Hope the trajectory of the defense continues..

That being said I hope someone asks BB/Brady about the timeout situation at the end of the first half. The only thing I can come up with is that everyone was ready to snap but a ref blocked the ball or something. But even then you just take the timeout.

That was one bizarre sequence.

How come Alan Branch was out there with his 4 game suspension?

Going forward, as in next year? Is that dips**t really saying we should start worrying now about next years Jets?
Maybe the jets @ pats game ?

Appealing.Date has been set next month. So unless reduced , he can miss the playoffs.

one other thing - iam happy they didnt try the "bleed the clock" BS they pulled vs seattle and went for the TD.

If the pass to Mitchell falls incomplete you could have prepared yourself for 2 runs (maybe a short high % pass to White/Lewis) to get the clock down and a FG by Ghost.

That was the worst clock management I've seen out of this team in a while. A timeout would have given them one more shot at the end zone while still being able to preserve enough clock for a FG attempt. Truly strange coaching there.

Iam just sick of these PI /def holding calls. Really needs a remphasis by the competition committee next yr.

In classic CBS fashion even though the Pats didn't call for a timeout the morons decided to show another replay of the Mitchell incompletion instead of staying live on a running sub 30 seconds clock. The way coaching tape works I doubt that we will see much in that footage that clears up what it was that took them almost 19 seconds to snap the ball.

This. Reacting to what you see on the field how you feel about the team seems very frowned upon on sport forums. I'm not saying any names nor calling any members here out, but not every post is sunshine and rainbows. As long as you aren't calling people names and keeping it mature, what's the issue?

Forums have always existed for the sake of discussing a neutral interest and having a variety of opinions on the subject.

Yeah there's a difference between:

"Ugh, we aren't executing and we're making them look good."

and

"****ing Belichick is washed up this defense can't stop a nosebleed, good luck winning anything in January you ***s."

after the other team gets a 1st down or something.

I'm calling it: He's retired by the 2021 season, maybe even 2020. Its somewhat early to say, but injuries start to pile up and he's only getting older. I like Gronk, but his body is more important than playing for us.

That's a 10-11 year career. Not too shabby for the NFL.

Of course, Brady will be playing for Jonathan Kraft and Josh McDaniels, with Steve Belichick as OC in 2021.

Did you see collins today ?

Yes, Rodney called him out and he looked putrid. He has completely given up on the Browns. I doubt he will be getting that big contract everyone thought he would get. Starting to think he blew his future.

Seattle scored 5 runs against TB today.

Oline needs to be addressed next season with serious talent. And I mean proven starts. Big, angry, tough a**holes that can command the trenches. Some have made the point "They were up against a great DLine!", which I don't discredit, but ask yourself, when is the last time Brady has had a SINGLE clean game where the Oline gave him time and didn't have him running around for his life? I can't remember one...

Ahh, yes, thanks for the info. We played the Jests so late in the season that I forgot we have them once again.

I agree. I did not like the game plan for the defense. They didn't scheme to ambush and harass Fitzpicksix, which in turn allowed him to settle in and lob jump balls to his bigger receivers. I understand that with the rules totally favoring passing games that it is safer to play conservative than aggressive schemes, but it just seemed like today was a prime opportunity to buck the trend.

All in all, this defense does not have a swagger or attitude when they play. I have not seen this defense play with an edge for four quarters since the Texans game. They have been inconsistent and unemotional at times since then.

Agree. And that last sack by Long was the result of the lineman giving up on the play. Long, once again went wide and was late, the lineman released him and he went straight for Fitz. Wacky play but not one that I thought was some fantastic play by Long.
