Jacoby Brissett doesn’t smoke, drink or like to fail. He’s perfect for the Patriots.

As a freshman backup at William T. Dwyer High, Brissett replaced the injured starter in a playoff game against Booker T. Washington, the best team in the state and one of the best in the nation. Coach Daniels expected little from Brissett, then a chunky, short 15-year-old. He completed all 12 passes he attempted and nearly led Dwyer to a comeback upset.

Plus, he baked cookies for his teammates and took his o-linemen in college out for wings every Thursday.

Gee, can't see what BB woulda liked about him. LOL

Really like the guy. Two games in as the #3 QB, though, with a shaky OL against a good pass rush, it'll be a tough one for him whatever his future ends up being.

I'd like to believe that Jacoby is the future. Give him 4 years in the system (and a few Super Bowl rings as the backup  ) and then let him take over for the next decade plus. Tomorrow night may shed a completely different light on things, of course, but from what I've seen so far, he's got the right mindset to succeed.

Yeah. The timeline for a Jimmy G takeover seems implausibly short. Brissett is more plausible. Heck, Brady would probably admit that it makes sense to think that ... even as he works hard to make it not be correct.

I live in in Palm Beach Gardens, specifically the district zoned for Dwyer High School. This guy is truly something special and has been a pleasure to see develop since he was 15. Dwyer is now a powerhouse, with I think 6 Dwyer alums entering the NFL in just the last two years. We got a keeper!

Again deflategate explodes in Roger Goodell's face with these kinds of NATIONAL articles. What is the main point of the article? Good, hard working, smart and serious kids are perfect Patriots. That's a message that wouldn't have been out there without Goodell's interference (and Alonzo's tackle)\

Think about it. Just about everything that has been written by the National media over the last 2 weeks has been nothing but paeans to Bellichick, the Patriots, and the Patriot way. :D
