Breaks for the Pats? Two huge ones I can think of immediately. Tuck rule and burning the spygate tapes.
I believe Jay Glazer still has a copy of a tape (unless that's just a rumor that has been passed around too often).

Here's a fun question: What is the Brady Rule?

yeah that game they lost was to the JETS

EDIT: gif of tuck Patriots defense causes a Vinny Testaverde tuck rule (2001) • /r/Patriots

It was also the game with the Mo Lewis hit on Bledsoe.

Jets vs. Patriots (2001)[edit]
The tuck rule was called in Week 2 of an NFL regular season matchup on September 23, 2001, between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets.[3] In the waning minutes of the second quarter, Patriots defensive end Anthony Pleasant apparently forced Jets quarterback Vinny Testaverde to fumble the ball, with Patriots defensive endRichard Seymour making a recovery.[4] The call was overturned upon review and ruled an incomplete pass, with the tuck rule cited. The Jets tied the game with a field goal on that drive before going on to win 10-3. (This was also the game in which Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe was injured by a hit from Mo Lewis, giving backup Tom Brady a chance to play.)

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick referred to this game after the subsequent Tuck Rule Game, telling ESPN, "I knew what the ruling should have been because we had dealt with that play a little bit earlier in the year on the other side of it."[5]

didnt they also play portions of the tape on cbs (60 minutes)? i remember the camera guy zooming in on cheerleaders

Your ignorance is showing. The spygate tapes were leaked to the media before they were "burned". You'll never guess which network they were leaked to...

The tuck rule was a dumb rule, and was repealed later, but it was the correct call. Not only that, the Pats lost a game earlier that season as a direct result of the tuck rule.

The quality of your posting has significantly declined.

I had mentioned others complain about the NEPFL just like many here complain about the NYJFL.

I personally don't give a crap. It is what it is. And we probably don't know 90% of what goes on. I just look at resulting actions. And right now it seems a large portion of the NFL big wigs are freakin' pissed at NE. Must be a reason for it. But come Sundays, it all means squat so I don't complain about it. To each their own though.

Also, I'm sure you're a great guy and super smart too, but you don't really think I care about your opinion of my posting... do ya?

Your two examples of Patriot favoritism failed, so we'll give you some time to gather some from those claiming it is the NEPFL...we'll be here all week.

Tuck Rule - Jets get a favorable Tuck Rule call and win the game against the Pats. Great Job. But Pats get a favorable tuck rule call and win a game two scores later and it is getting a break.

Spygate - Bill Belichick puts a camera on the sideline and films Jet signals and Spygate was born. Meanwhile the Jets had a camera in their booth filming Patriot signals DURING the same game and nothing. #camera placement gate

Could the Pats have put a camera in a camera booth? NO. Because the only filming booths available were behind the Jets sideline.

Integrity.

That he gets to feel and squeeze soft balls?

Lol, I love that video. Honestly though, I don't know. Googling says it's about protecting a QB's knees. Why?

That is because the ball has been scoured, scrubbed, soaked and seasoned, a breaking-in process that takes months and ensures that every ball used by the Giants in a game will meet Manning’s exact preferences. The leather will have been softened, the grip enhanced and the overall feel painstakingly assessed.

There are no new balls thrown around in an N.F.L. game. A new ball, despised for its sheen and waxy gloss, is as popular as a late hit.

For every N.F.L. game, each team has 12 to 20 balls that it has meticulously groomed and prepared according to the needs of its starting quarterback. The balls, brushed and primed using various obvious and semisecret techniques, bear the team logo and are switched out from sideline to sideline depending on which team is on offense.

That means that from series to series, the ball in play can feel wholly different, but each team’s quarterback always has a ball prepped by his equipment staff the way he likes it.

Well what the league office does to the patriots do mean more than squat. If they took your draft picks and suspended your best player with out any real proof he did anything wrong I'm sure you wouldn't be happy about it.

@Ross12 or another moderator, time to remove the jets troll

Ah ha, thought it was you who posted (and then quickly removed) the comment about banning me a little while ago.

I prefer this one:

61024-Mark-Sanchez-butt-fumble-gif-xDAf.gif

Aha!! I get it now. He thinks the refs should have called a Tuck rule on that play. Sanchez was clearly trying Tuck the football up Moore's ass.

Googling says it's about protecting a QB's knees. Why?
Most people incorrectly mix up the Carson Palmer rule (2005 postseason where the Steelers took his knee out) and the Brady rule (2008).

The Palmer rule is what is most often applied. It is about going low on the QBs knees, but I'm sure there are nuances that apply to both.

The Brady rule was added 3 yrs later, but it is often cited incorrectly by the media/fans. I believe it has to do with preventing a defender from continuing his motion on the ground once the ball is released, much like Bernard Pollard did.

While they're at it, they can fill this out too:

Fill in the blank. I, _________, am a butthurt loser who needs to make excuses for my team's absolute failures.

This could be a poll!

choices:

a. Ryan Grigson
b. Jim Irsay
c. Jim Harbaugh
d. Roger Goodell (his team being the Jets)
e. Woody Johnson
f. Rex Ryan
g. every Colts, Jets, Bills, Dolphins, or Ravens fan

They just suspended Sheldon.

Because he gave a soon to be driver a defensive driving course and gun safety lesson at the same time. While also teaching the kid the smell of weed so he knows what to avoid. And most importantly taught the kid the invaluable lesson of not trusting anyone who just says they're a cop. They could be impersonating an officer.

Sheldon is just a misunderstood role model.

A wise man appreciates it when someone tells them that their fly is down. It seems strange that someone who claims to not care about my opinion, expressed appreciation of compliments I've given them in the past.

Anyone who says NEPFL is a complete moron. No team has been punished nearly as harshly for major offenses as the Pats have been for misdemeanors. It's also worth noting that all of the Pat's punishments have been handed down by a corrupt NFL front office that is lead and riddled by former Jet's employees.
