Well, like i said in my post I was only going on..." what I read..", from several sources, but mostly Florio. I know you do a lot of research on this stuff, which is greatly appreciated, since I have neither the time nor the inclination to do it myself. But Im pretty sure youre not an attorney. I believe Florio is. I also know hes much better connected to the nfl than you, so I'll have to respectfully disagree with you here. BTW, the lead story Ian posted on this site this morning pretty much mirrors what i said yesterday-which it should since we're both quoting Florio. Ive never used a "disagree" or "dislike" button-but since you did gotta return the favor. Btw, That big red X looks very unfriendly-and doesnt really fit. To me, disagreeing is what most people do here-and its not an unfriendly thing. Now "dislike" is a whole nother story. I would propose that Ian changes that big red X to" disagree". You could very well be right. But i know BOTH of us hope not.

Has Quantum said he is an attorney?

Don't believe so. Why?

Was just wondering. He comes off as a know-it-all when he doesn't really sound like an attorney, but someone who has done some reading and is just regurgitating it.

I also wonder why he has never really translated the legal jargon for the board to read and understand.

Lots of legal terms, but no real translation.

I've followed Quantum's posts throughout deflategate and he has been incredibly accurate.

As far as the translating goes just ask him to break it down for you. He will.

Definitely not a "know -it-all" rather a guy who knows a lot. :)

I appreciate what he does cause he saves me the trouble. But I don't take what anyone here says as gospel-i go to several different sources. Still what Quantum has posted on this subject, going back to Berman, has been useful.

We have been dealing with this issue for almost a year and a half on this board and Quantum has been one of the most knowledgeable posters on this site throughout. Coming in here and talking **** about him just makes you look ignorant.

It goes back father than that, I argued with him over what we thought the Wells Report would produce and when all was said and done he was right on the money about it and I was dead wrong. He's been right on the physics and the law and may well be the best poster on this matter on this site for the entire affair.

Rusty Griswold is a carry over from the soon to be defunct Boston.com Pats forum. Best part of this board was no Rusty. Now we have one.

Sigh.

I'm not a lawyer...

...but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

What some here apparently don't understand is that there is no need to bribe two Federal appeals court judges to rule against the Patriots when it's perfectly clear that the contrails made them do it.

Seriously, there is no need for any conspiracy theory about how the court ruled. They just took the lazy way out and deferred to the arbitrator as they are generally required to do.

I personally have no great hopes of either an en banc or Supreme Court review (unless the Peterson decision happens soon and goes against the NFL). The facts here are kind of specific, and so the courts will just tend to duck out.

(Once upon a time, some eons ago, I was indeed a practicing attorney, but not a litigator).

I dunna know. Send him a PM. Hes a good dude.

It's not a personal thing.

I just think Munson and other anit-Pats bozos at ESPN made all this predictions last August and looked like absolute morons after Berman's ruling. Since Goodell appealed on "absolute powers", Munson and other ESPN bozos just regurgitate the same garbage because that is what they're ordered to do.

Meanwhile, Florio, an actual lawyer does his homework and makes it clear Brady won't be suspended, laying down 2 options for Brady, which makes a ton of sense.

Since Goodell's Appeal, people like Munson literally said "this is all over". The bottom line is, no one knows how this thing willl go, so there is no point in pretending someone has all the answers, while others have no right to an opinion.

It's a bit arrogant. If he was an attorney, cool, but he's not even that, apparently. Talking in circles won't do much of anything, either.

There seems to be a lack of understanding that this isn't about Goodell's powers. That is what Goodell appealed on and so now he's got the media brainwashed that it is what this is about, when it's not.

Olson didn't take this on for it to be about that. He took it on because he knows it's a framejob, can prove it and will turn it back to that.

Just saying.

I said LAST YEAR that this goes way deeper than a frame job. This will be a landmark case. I stand by it. This is about an employer framing an employee behind an agenda and trying to get away with it.

If Goodell wins, every single employer in this country will be protected from doing what Goodell just did, with no accountability and repercussions whatsoever. Every single CBA ever negotiated from there on out will allow the non-labor side to frame employees for financial gains or other reasons. That simply cannot happen.

So, all the legal speculation by professionals or wannabes on messageboards means very little.

This is a principled stand, not only by Brady, but the union. Billions are stake and fancy lawyer speak won't change that.

The Wells Report remains the target, not Goodell's "absolute powers". Always go to the source.

Right about what? By Page 2 of that report, I knew it was a framejob because there was no clear premise. That was done by design.

He didn't have inside knowledge on what that report would be. No one could have predicted such an obvious and brazen farce.

I'm not a lawyer but I know a lot about the law and other lawyerings. I could go toe to toe with anyone on bird law. I plead the fifth. Filibuster.

We just learned he is not an attorney. His speculation is no better than anyone else's. Everyone has a right to an opinion.

A lot of his info is copped from the popular ESPN view.

He keeps regurgitating things that won't matter with what Ted Olson does.

I'll take my sister-in-law's legal expertise over someone who is pretending to be one, too. Again, nothing personal. I am sure his speculation was helpful to the board or reading up on the legal concepts which may or may not apply.
