While Jax or MIA would give him 4 mill per
Yeah seriously. If Sanu gets $7m then Martin is probably worth $3-4m a year in this market. We've got him locked up for 2 years at $1.5m.

Anyone else surprised that top O-linemen like Donald Penn and Russell Okung are still available??

The number of quality Corners available is just ridiculous.. Brent Grimes, Patrick Robinson, Prince Amukamara, and Leon Hall.

streater for 5 mill over 2 years would be reasonable.

This year's draft class is deep in areas that the Patriots need it. The O-line and D-line. And, if you don't think the Patriots need O-line (tackles in particular) and D-line (depth at DT and DE) then you are beyond help.
What? OK here we go. WR is a priority. Did your forget? .........Most likely. Want me to look it up like you always ask??
OL absolutely somewhere. Decent crop of OT. I agree. Middle of the O Line no so much.
RB class is junk
CB class is not great.
TE is weak

If they resign Hicks, then the D line is pretty well set unless a unique pass rusher falls to us. But where we have the sweet spot in picks? Unlikely.

Are we OK now?

No i know but wouldn't Bill still at least talk to him/them?

Bill is probably the one who called them initially. Probably called them and then set up the visit with the offensive coaches and such after the fact.. Better than wasting the time of 6 coaches ..

The market was nuts for corners last year and is nuts for d-lineman this year.

Starks flies beneath the radar but consistently grades out as one of the league's most efficient running backs. He doesn't get a ton of touches, but he's very good at succeeding with those carries and receptions. Criminally underrated change-of-pace guy, I'd be pretty happy if the Patriots brought him in.
One problem...Fumbles.
DW Toys

I'd be fine with Starks if he's cheap.
Not so much IMO,
DW Toys

Yet, the problems persist. Starks has four fumbles (two lost) in four December games alone.

His five fumbles (three lost) on 180 touches this season match the number of times he’s put the ball on the ground in his five previous seasons combined. Before this year, Starks had five career fumbles in 470 regular-season touches and lost only one of them.

His most recent flub came on the first play after halftime in Sunday’s 38-8 loss to Arizona. The Cardinals scored two plays later to extend their lead to 24-0. Starks didn’t take another offensive snap the rest of the game with rookie John Crockett spelling Eddie Lacy instead.

I'm licking my chops at those corners. I wonder what Grimes would cost, I freakin' love that guy... Even if his wife is a nut case.

Butler + Grimes with Ryan & Roberts competing to be the third corner? Yes please! Oh, and he was cut by Miami so he wouldn't even factor into the comp pick formula.

4 mill a year for a 'starting' RB who plays half the snaps is absolutely chump change. #3 WRs are getting 7 mill.

Uhhhh, bro...

Mediocre WRS aren't getting 7 million from us.

Other teams are spending stupidly. Notice we aren't?

Don't forget that we still have to lock up Hightower, Butler, and Collins. There are much more important things we need to do.

I've never MADE you look stuff up for me. Not once. I've always done my own research. Again, you've never admitted to being wrong about things even when shown by other people.. That is the end of the story.
You are right sir...You win! There ya go!

Lankford emerged, because Forte got injured.
Lankford games 1-6 15 carries 2.5/game
Lankford games 7-10 53 carries 13.3/game(Forte hurt in game 7)
Lankford games 11-16 58 carries 9.7/game (Forte returned game 11) Forte had 82

Pretty obvious that Lankford emerged because Forte was injured.

The only thing that is obvious is that Forte was open to sharing RB duties AND staying in Chicago.....

Cut your losses and admit you were wrong in both counts

Where exactly am I backing off my OP?

You were the one who gave the range of touches. You then changed the argument to "he's not getting those touches".

And you ignore the fact that BB & Co. adapt to the personnel around them, as they did with Lewis last season, for example.

Gotta love how you ignore what is said and just go on some strawman rant.

Hicks is likely gone to Chicago. Especially with the funny money being thrown around. The three guys who are all but guaranteed spots are Branch, Malcolm Brown, and Easley (if he can stay healthy). The Pats also have Chris Jones (returning from injury), Kitchen, and Vellano. For ends, they have Ninkovich, Jones, and Sheard followed by Grissom, Rufus Johnson, and Flowers. Ends they might be ok, depending on how Johnson and Flowers return from their injuries.. But there is plenty of talk going around that the Patriots should trade Jones because of the ridiculous money that Vernon Olivier and Malik Jackson got.

So, I could easily see the Pats looking at DT and DE in the draft over WR.

WR isn't as much of a priority as ILB/MLB. Right now the Pats have Jonathan Freeny and Bostic now that Mayo and Fletcher have both retired.

Do the Pats have a true need at CB or TE? Pats are 4 deep at CB that people are comfortable with so taking one outside the 2-4 rounds is more likely than not. And I could easily see the Patriots taking Vitale or Gronkowski and making them an H-back. There is also AJ Derby who is recovering from injury. The Pats supposedly really liked him.

Nothing you've said changes the fact that O-line and D-line are the deepest positions in the draft. And nothing you've said changes the fact that the Pats need a development RT, an ILB/MLB, and likely a DT much more than WR.

As profoundly and aggressively wrong as you've been about pretty much every FA period since Welker got cut one would think you'd steer clear of these threads.
