Then Elway will sign Jonny football as a backup lol

RG3 will be revived in Denver

I said it before but if he manages to stay healthy (big, big if) he is a good fit for the bootleg/mobile part of Kubiaks offense. Fitz might be a better fit but most probably more expensive.

I don't want the 32nd pick alone. The Broncos are desperate for a QB and if Garopollo turns out to be a good QB, the Pats just saved what would be their strongest competitor (as long as they have a competent QB) from falling off a cliff. Denver would need to give up much more than that.
Like, say, their first this year and a 4th next year? :)

I think Anderson will be off the table now that the Donkey's lost pretty much everyone not named Von Miller. They'll be matching anything, like what Pittsburgh did when we signed Sanders.

But say they don't; Anderson, Kearse and Weddle would be a very, VERY good FA.

There's no need to overspend on a RB. Save the money for Collins and Hightower. I'd like to see the Pats bring Ridley back on a low money deal and go with Ridley and Lewis. That would be more than adequate.
I'd be OK with that. If Ridley can get back to 2013 form I'd bring him in.

Unless they go with the 'I need to feed my family' line

Yep. And I do hold it against them. If someone is offering you 8m per year and there is no real chance of winning a championship, possibly never within your contract time, vs a team offering 5-6 that can...you are a moron.

Again, stupid athletes that their 10 year old selves would kick their a** for even entertaining the idea. Sports is about winning. Period. Money is completely secondary. They get paid more than enough.

At some point, BB will become a buyer. He can't expect to fill all the holes on offense…OL, RB, WR, TE ….starting at the back of the 2nd round of the draft

If this is the type of $ going to free agent WRs, I'd rather see NE pass... Ppl on here love them some WRs, and ***** about the Patriots not having much there, but $ can be better spent.

its not just about spending
its about balance and respect for your players
they should think about giving their own what they deserve (including Gronk)
its more important than adding expensive new guys
the balance and the atmosphere of the team (especially in NFL) is more important than singular talent

7 million for Sanu?

Salary cap killer- death by Sanu

This is nitpicking. Two of those six guys are warm bodies with hands, not NFL players.

It's not nit-pickinig. It's fact. They are under contract and the Patriots made it a point to bring them back. Every player starts somewhere. I think you need to be reminded that Troy Brown was cut by Parcells originally. I think you need to be reminded that Wes Welker was originally a UDFA who got cut by San Diego and picked up by Miami before he came to New England.

You never know what you will get with players over time. Hell, even Edelman. Look at what his hard work has done. Most people had him pegged as getting cut during his first year. And now look at him.

Trade trade
Would SD trade Stevie Johnson now.

There is a report out there that the steelers want weddle badly.

I'd be shocked if Weddle would end up here. It seems like the draft is the ideal playground for BB and Patricia in their search for the ideal hybrid defensive back/lb.

Mitchell Schwartz to the Chiefs is a really good fit. That's the division where it makes the most sense to invest in a right tackle since he has to go against Von Miller twice a year.

Mitchell Schwartz to KC

Patriots fans are terrible at valuing players.

Are you saying that's too high or too low?

Have to go by what the market has been which was Marvin Jones getting $8m per and Benjamin got $6m per. 2 years ago the Patriots gave LaFell $3.6m per and that market was actually softer for WR than this one has been so far

D.Jax got 3 for 24
Decker got 5 for 36
Edelman 4 for 17
Tate 5 for 31
Sanders 3 for 15

I miss the Larry Fitzgerald posts!

Add in 22m more in cap space plus the FA day 1 insanity tax and its not that crazy. Still a huge amount of money.
