Schefter on Lewis: No swelling yet (good) but ACL loose (bad)

The MRI has been done. Should know the results tomorrow.

I don't think that the article is saying they did the MRI, they're waiting to do it then see the results.

I think James White can run some of those plays that are working so well with Lewis, it will not be so smooth, he wont get so many yards after the catch, but it will work.

Per a league source, the Patriots and running back Dion Lewis currently are awaiting the results of an MRI conducted Sunday night on a knee Lewis injured during Sunday’s win over Washington.

Turns out that our armchair lawyers turned out to be right so I'm not sure where you're going with this.

Roger Goodell is not nearly as formidable a foe as the human body.

expecting the worse....but hoping for the best.

Oh, well that makes sense then.

They better have a top team of surgeons just staring at the images all night.

Not surgeons, radiologists read the images ;).

Just based on watching the injury, I'm assuming Lewis' season is over and hoping for the best. He certainly deserves better than this. But if he's done, I assume that means James White to the active roster, and wouldn't mind seeing Dri Archer brought in.
Also, **** Fedex Field, **** Dan Snyder, and **** that entire organization for not fixing that field. It destroyed their franchise QB's career, and they still won't fix it. They should be forced to forfeit every game until they can get around to putting an entirely new field down.

While Archer makes sense, I'm leery as to how much of the system he could reasonably be expected to pick up at the halfway point of the season. He'd be responsible for blitz pickup, audibles, and both receiving/running responsibilities. Seems like a tall order, in my opinion. Even if he's 2x the athlete that White is, White's previous knowledge of the system would likely put him much higher than any outsider.

To take it one step further, he's was rather underwhelming in Pittsburgh, although the Patriots certainly have a reputation for bringing out the best from other teams' castoffs.

This article seems a bit odd, and may be different pieces of information patched together to try and make a story.

Do they have to fly someone in from another country or something to look at the images? Is it like an old Polaroid where they need to shake it and hope that it gradually forms a picture over time? What's the holdup? He's had the MRI, but they won't know the results until tomorrow?

Maybe a second/confirmatory opinion from the top radiologist(s)? That would make sense. In the meantime, one would think that they have a pretty good idea of what's going on tonight, but who knows?

If they do pick up Archer, my guess would be that he takes White's spot as a gameday inactive for at least a month, while White sees the in-game action.

Archer was underwhelming in Pittsburgh, but I'm not inclined to read anything into that. With Bell being one of the best receiving RBs in the NFL, there wasn't much opportunity for him to get on the field, plus he's exactly the kind of player that I could easily see the Steelers not really knowing what to do with.

30 other teams have had a crack at him at this point too.

For what it's worth, Mike Reiss reports that the MRI will be done tomorrow, which probably makes more sense than PFT suggesting that it's already been done but "they are waiting for the results."
