Boomer Esiason: Brady is the GOAT. Chris Carter: On Verge of GOAT Status

Nice to see the haters coming around to reality. Go Tom!!!
And, after all this time and all they have said, I care what either of these guys think because.........?

That game yesterday was something special. And I mean way beyond any stats — beyond the passing yards, beyond the rushing. Just sheer leadership and football know how, and willing that team to win, getting that young and makeshift O line to hold off that defense, finding out how to make it all work.

Brady already is the goat. What's new?

Might have something to do with the young guys progressing the way they are. Whole team concept and it breeds success and player growth. Quite amazing to see in reality.

A lot of teams try to do it, the Pats have it down pat.

It was easily his best game of the season. Maybe his best game in the last three seasons...I can't remember all of 2012. IMO the only game that matched this was the Super Bowl where he was phenomenal with that legendary fourth quarter performance.

This game was special though. He carried the team on his back and accounted for pretty much all of the offensive yards. Amendola and Gronk were tremendous but 11 or so drops and he still dominated. All of this without running the ball against the best defense (statistically) in the league, behind a make shift offensive line. Tack on the fourth quarter comeback and also the clock killing drive where he just passed the ball all the way up the field. Most teams kill the clock with runs, we kill the clock with Brady passing the ball.

Deflate gate was awful and painful to go through. I can't even imagine what it was like for Brady. But if there is any silver lining to all of that ******** it might be that TB12 is on a goddamn mission. He is always great but this year he is playing on another level.

I said pretty much this same thing to my son yesterday. We only watched the game on Red Zone so we got snippets but it was apparent even then. I told him that Brady is going to carry the team and will them to win. Just watch him, he won't be denied. And of course, it happened. It almost always does. He's a freakin' legend.

....until P6 gets his meaningless "Most Regular Season Passing Yards" record.

Chris Carter might be the stupidest person to ever regularly speak over the air waves. No hyperbole, he will not go 2 minutes without saying something so mind blowingly moronic that you are shaking your head in disbelief.

Seriously, he's a buffoon.

Too bad Brady can't play mad all the time. I swear if he falls off I am going to kick his dog in front of him and run. I think i can out run him anyway :p

Help get him going again.

You can outrun him but he's just gonna drill a football in the back of your neck.

My suggestion for Tom's new hobby when his playing days are done:

The range of reasonable opinions re Brady's GOATness range from "Yes, and it's not even close" at the high end to "Not there but close" at the low.

I, of course, am personally near the middle of that range, specifically at "Yes, but it's close".

Bradys the GOAT, Montana is his fall guy.

Eerily similar game to the super bowl yesterday. Minus the stage.

14-17 2 TDs 150 yards in the 4th quarter against a vaunted defense.

13-15 2 TDs 134 yds in the 4th quarter against a vaunted defense.

A few other GOATs for the Patriots:

Play by Play Announcer: Gil Santos
One-Year Rental: Darrelle Revis
Slot Receiver: Wes Welker (I expect some blowback here)
Fredo Corleone: Eric Mangini
Sports Law Attorney: Jeffrey Kessler, J.D.
Fan Forum Founder: Ian Logue

Also on ESPN today: Louis Riddick (one of the few ESPN analysts i respect, along with Schefter, Yates, and maybe one other) was just raving about Tom and BB. He normally raves about them whenever they come up, but today he was raving - saying things like "we probably won't ever see another QB-coach duo as good as them in the league."
