The only way the NFL corruption gets fixed is if enough fans and owners realize the absurdity of it. If you want the NFL and press to just keep hitting the Pats with this and not other teams, while we just sit and take it, that's fine. Just realize that if you expect everyone to be "macho" enough to rise above standing up for fairness, you're be sorely disappointed. So basically, you have nothing. And nah, I think I'll stick around. Stay butthurt though. It's entertaining.
Kontra, I think the problem everyone here has (and all Pats fans in general) is that in a league that really wants "partity" you can 't have hypocrisy, inconsistencies, favoritism, and witch hunts"
The Pats were penalized harshly for something that science said diddnt happen. The Pats brand has been tarnished, TB's cred questioned, and the fans had to endure a bunch of **** that will never go away.
I personally think every time a team "cheats" like in this OBVIOUS example, that it should be thrown in the face of everyone to show how phucked up the league is. It will also show how people cant be objective and fair and admit its all either, no big deal or its all cheating.
****ies are the people that cry when the pats may have done something but dont say a word when its another team. That is a pus$$y and I dont recall the USA being built on values like that.
Once again, my OP for the raging masses with pitchforks and torches...This doesn't need to be turned into a ****storm. Neither did Deflategate, Spygate, or Bountygate. This just maybe needs to be a simple fine. The "****storm" stance is the problem with the Goodell regime.
And this is all exactly why Goodell has the power he has and exactly why there is a problem with his regime. Hoping for that continue is a failure of logic. There's nothing wrong with wanting Ben to be punished. Wanting it to turn into another scandal for Goodell to handle is what's wrong here and doesn't make sense given the way this fanbase responded to that logic in the offseason.
Maybe the more franchises/fanbases it happens to, the faster Goodell is firedAnd that's what the problem is. That people hope for another one just because it unfairly happened to the Pats is the issue here.
Ah so hoping for another high profile scandal for GOODELL to handle and bungle will fix things with the NFL office? I think not. You're misunderstanding the motive and goal for most of us. I don't have any problem with hoping he gets fined or suspended. If you remember, I mentioned he should be punished. My problem is with this fanbase hoping for a scandal. Seems awfully hypocritical with all of the squawking in the offseason when it happened with us.
Yep. My point is that I don't see the elements of a scandal here though. This isn't about manufacturing evidence to frame a player, coach or team. There is no ratting and there isn't a requirement for a Ted Wells-worthy investigation.I don't have any problem with hoping he gets fined or suspended. When they do it something like 10x in a row I think it is appropriate to say hey you said it already - enough - you disagree - you want to insult people who disagree- got it now let the people who are interested carry on in peace. The issue is the Steelers breaking a rule which just months ago had a 4 game suspension. This can't go unlooked at.Come on, we can't go around telling people with differing opinions that they're not allowed in our echo chamber.
FWIW I can see both sides: point out the constant, blatant hypocrisy to get people off the Patriots' backs, and do unto others as you'd damn well like them to start doing unto you.
So then don't complain in thread after thread when the smallest non-issues turn into ****storms with the Pats.
So you don't believe there is a critical mass of disillusioned fans and owners that would lead to change within the NFL front office? It's fine to disagree with a point like that, although I would question the intelligence of anyone who did. Thumping your chest and calling people ****ies that are "below you" for such a disagreement is absurd. Most of us would like all these ****storms to end. The problem is, if they only keep happening to the Patriots, they never will.Ah so hoping for another high profile scandal for GOODELL to handle and bungle will fix things with the NFL office? Have we become a nation of rats? I mean, if it's in defense of OUR integrity, have at it. But ratting out other people and organization is pathetic.
He looks guilty as hell, don't he?!
Simple. There's a 1-31 vote for firing Goodell right now. If it happens to the Steelers, there's now maybe a 2-30 vote. The more teams it happens to (and not just the big bad Pats that everyone thinks they had it coming to) the betterEveryone quoting me (I have over 30 alerts), please explain how more scandals for Goodell to **** up will "stop the cycle". And do so in detail. Because it only sounds like you're mostly making excuses for still being sore that it happened to the Pats and, because of that, you want it to haplen to everyone else.
