Patriots Legal Counsel Rebuttal of Wells Report

Did you read it?
It tears apart the entire fabric of the Wells report and indicates numerous examples of their one-sided, guilty until proven innocent approach.

Andy, I 100% read it granted I glossed over the Wells part because it made me sick. It was great to see a thorough and professional beating on that thing. I think a few here were more discussing the legal tactics of showing a hand before steps 1.2.3 etc.

I am sure it was done with the legal teams blessing.

Great report, I like it, would have been better w/o addressing May's deflator text. Explanation as convoluted as Wells' gauge explanation. Maybe it is long running joke about losing weight but it is very weird nonetheless. Easier to believe "not going to ESPN was about stealing sneakers."

You maybe right but if this was released for PR purposes , I dont think anyone is buying it because they dont want to buy it. So yes, it offers explanations to fans and pats fans like us but dont know how it improves our chances in an appeal unless now we go to court now.

I dont care about other ppl bashing us. FreeBrady and give our picks back. Im good.

@MarkDanielsPJ
Patriots emailed Wells that Colts ball boys "had been seen by Jacksonville personnel with ball needles hidden under their long sleeves."
There is another potential problem if true.

Probably. I think the Blandino lies and the Mort report are far more damaging to the league than what some independent idiot thinks happened.
Does the pats rebuttal mention blandino's contradicting statements ?

Is this in the Wells report or is this in the pats report today?

If the Pats can prove they informed wells of this and he did NOTHING about it then how is it not a biased with hunt?

That's damning imo

I'm not concerned with the timing aspect, because the truth is the truth and a case is a case.
I think its a home run because it exposes the flaws in so much detail its scary.
I think there is no legal standard that exists anywhere that says the 'judges' interpretation that everyone is lying with no one giving testimony to contradict it is acceptable. That is what this just turned into.
Every piece of 'evidence' is speculation refuted by at least equally, and in most case more credible answers.

No offense, but you two don't get it. The ideal ending would have been Goodell reversing everything on appeal, not having to wait months and hope for a court victory. Yes, such an occurrence was incredibly unlikely, but it's now a 0% chance.
I do get it and I understand your PoV. We disagree on what makes Goodell tick and thats fine.

I think winning the appeal process was 0% as is. Legal action or the threat thereof is the only recourse that will get their sanctions getting overturned IMO. Having Bob sit down with Goody and go thru line by line the Wells Report would get them nowhere. Goody is too stubborn.

Salvaging the brand was another major objective of the response.

God I hope somebody proves this. Colts were the deflators all along.

And here we go again what does "reasonably cooperate" mean? Neither side is going to agree.

Exactly.

Wells: Give me the text messages you have with the equipment manager and every other thing on your phone that will make you look guilty
Brady: I don't have that.

Wells: He was being uncooperative.

I don't care about the pr.
It's a home run because it clearly illustrates the facts that will win in court.

People were already talking about Brady's suspension being overturned. Goodell already knew what was coming. If you don't want to see what I'm seeing, that's up to you. I'm just trying to offer my take on things, based upon training and experience. Everyone is, naturally, welcome to their own opinions

Yes, it did mention that he was emailed about the supposed rule breaking and it is a known fact that Blandino lied about it - which I think right there is Game Over for the league.
