HYPOTHETICAL: What is everyone's confidence in Jimmy should the NFL (unfairly) suspend Brady?

Maybe it's because I'm looking through rose-colored glasses, but I feel like Jimmy could hold his own until the GOAT returns. An entire offseason of game-planning for #10 mixed in with a fired up Patriots squad wouldn't necessarily be the end of the world.

Plus, Tom would come back and throw for 60 TDs in 12 games so it would be okay ;)

Good enough to go .500 and keep us in contention until Brady would return.

The offense is built for him. Edelman/Gronk are perfect for Jimmy's short-medium accuracy throws & quick release. I think the offense could be good as Cassel's 08 offense, and I think our defense will be solid as a whole. I think he could pull out 2-0 or 3-1.

If anyone has NFL rewind, watch Jimmy G vs. Buffalo without Gronk, Edelman, Connolly, etc. He showed some good things vs. a top 5 D.

2-0 on a two game suspension, 3-1 on a four game suspension, 5-1 on a six game suspension, 6-2 on an eight game suspension.

So yeah I feel pretty good.

Probably well, not that I'll be watching because this entire debacle has sapped every ounce of enjoyment I get out of watching football. It'll be cool in 15 years when the league has teams in 5 different countries and a playoff bracket of 20 and dies a slow death due to over saturation when no one cares anymore. Or maybe they'll be sued for 100 billion dollars for conucussion coverups and be forced to fold. Either way I'm done.

That's always been my standard for judging back ups could the guy go .500 over a short span to keep you in contention.

I would like to think Jimmy is a little better than that.

We'll have the best coach to ever coach in the NFL pissed off, a group of veterans who love their leader feeling wronged and a young mobile passer who has learned from the best QB ever. I feel pretty confident.

Hopefully decent enough to help win the games, but not good enough to the point Belichick would let him take Brady's job.

It would be a travesty to have Brady's time as a Patriot end due to such a pathetic situation.

Normally I would say .500 for a back up is a success but with 4 months to prepare as the starter i am expecting much more from the kid.

I also would like to think he's better than that but he's also only in his 2nd year and has extremely limited PT vs #1's. If he can match or exceed Cassel, I'd be extremely thrilled.

I could care less. If Brady is suspended over this ******** during the 2014 Superbowl Champions banner drop, I'll be boycotting the league.

@Buffalo will be tough but I have full confidence in JimmyG. He should get extra time with the 1s in camp and preseason games. I'll be surprised if he isn't at least league average.

Brady may get suspended but it should be easily overturned by his attorneys. The league has **** and they know it. That is why they concocted this smear campaign so that Rog can look like a hero to the other 31 owners.

Brady wont miss any games assuming they can appeal and resolve a potential suspension in a timely fashion.

If they suspend Brady for this BS I would not be upset one bit if he had a press conference and just lamb basted the NFL and Roger Gödel when you have players punching out his girlfriend on video tape and Tom Brady getting suspended for maybe knowing something about a freekin under inflated ball, give me a break...I would not be upset he he said F off I am retiring and just walk away as the greatest QB that ever lived....

I am a fan of Jimmy G but I think you guys are overhyping him. It would be his first time really playing in a full NFL game. He'd be like a rookie in some ways. When was the last time he faced this level of competition for an extended period of time?
If we have a four game suspension, we could go 2-2.
But if we have an eight game suspension, it's possible we go 4-4.
If we go 4-4, that means we could really only lose two games the rest of the way. Brady has his one stinker a year, that puts us at 5 loses. 11-5. Enough to make the playoffs? Probably.
But at 10-6? I doubt it. Especially with those divisional games in the first 8 games that I doubt Jimmy G can win.

if its an 8 game suspension then we are likely to miss the playoffs.

Average QB play at best (remember even Rodgers started off slowly when he became the starter)
Below average cornerbacks.
Great coach.
Great front seven.
Average running game.

Sounds like a .500 team to me.

I think he'll be the last to wear #10 here.

@Buf and @Dallas are no joke. Neither is opening night Vs Pitt. I think 2-2 is realistic if it were 4 games.

We haven't watch Jimmy play a full regular season game with the entire first team out there.

Against KC he came in during garbage time. Had a nice, encouraging drive but still. Against Buffalo he came in after a series or two. We took out several starters and Jimmy & the offense barely moved the ball the rest of the game. Other than that we had preseason.

2-2 sounds about right. I'm optimistic about JG but not yet sold on him.
