It's easy, and only takes a few moments.According to NFLcombineresults.com, only five DTs over 300lb have run faster than 4.84 in combine history: Tank Johnson, Mike Martin, Evander Hood, Jay Howard and Luis Castillo.
Fletcher Cox ran a 4.77 at the 2011 Combine, per CBS Sports / NFL DraftScout, with a 1.65 10 split.
I think that if Hardison could end up developing into something in-between Fletcher Cox, Sheldon Richardson and Muhammad Wilkerson, with perhaps a bit of Dominique Easley's versatility, it would be ideal.
Cox missed the cut off by a hair I believe, at 296.
I agree with your assessment on what to hope for with Hardison, which makes me a little concerned whether he will be there still at the end of the 2nd. Players with his measureables rarely slip to the end of round 2.

4.84 fortyWe need to have some guesses on what Hardison will do at his pro day. I'm going with:
4.84 forty
1.69 10 yard
33.5 vert
115 broad
7.31 3cone
Those would be terrific numbers and would get people talking.
Honestly I think they should just trade back to the late 40s early 50s and take Hardison and Marpet in the second round. They both can contribute immediately, pickup an extra 3rd round pick and try and move up from #96 and get a good RB.I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hardison at 64 and a trade up from 96 for Ali Marpet is the core of my draft strategy, as I've outlined elsewhere. Get a big DT like Kendrick Ellis (or even Dan Williams, though I think he will be too costly) in FA, and we're in great shape.

I like Jay Ajayi I think he could be a 3 down RB and he runs low and wide, which is something I like a lot. I don't see Gurley lasting to #32. I think he is going to be gone in the top 25 despite the injury.I'm fine with that if there's no one who I really like at 32. I'd certainly take Todd Gurley if he's on the board. But I'd also be fine doing what you suggest, and moving up for David Johnson, Jay Ajayi, or Tevin Coleman.
Marpet is going to be an all pro LG in my opinion. I would honestly take him at #32 if I thought there was any chance he would go before #64.
tony pauline on Hardison:
"Marcus Hardison, who did not participate at the Combine because of an injury, stood out and was a star at Arizona State's pro day. Hardison measured 6-3 1/4, 305 pounds, then ran his 40s in times of 4.92 and 4.95, though some watches had him in the 4.8s. His 10 split was in the 1.70 range. Hardison's short shuttle timed at 4.68 with a 7.29 three-cone.
Hardison looked terrific in line drills, which was run by the Minnesota Vikings, as scouts commented on his exceptional quick twitch muscles. Coaches in attendance remarked that had he been able to run at the Combine, Hardison would've ranked as one of the top overall performers on the defensive line. Yesterday, Hardison met privately with the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers."
4. Strong, Hardison pull scouts to ASU - Every team in the NFL was represented Friday at Arizona State's Pro Day. Though star wideout Jaelen Strong might have been the big draw, he largely elected to stand pat on his terrific Combine performance (which included a 4.44 second showing in the 40-yard dash and a 42" vertical) but wowed during the positional drills, catching every pass thrown his way.
The former Sun Devil who really caught the attention of scouts, however, was Marcus Hardison, a fast-rising defensive lineman who is coming off of a strong performance at the Senior Bowl. The 6-foot-3, 305 pound Hardison is a bit of a defensive end in a defensive tackle's body, showing impressive quick-twitch athleticism for a man of his bulk. He was clocked in the high 4.8s to mid 4.9s on two attempts at the 40 yard dash and came in at 4.65 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.29 seconds in the 3 cone drill. Hardison's quickness makes him one of the more intriguing interior pass rushers among this year's defensive tackles.
Pro-Day 3/10: Casey Pierce/TE/Kent State lights it up. As fast as 6.83s in the 3-Cone. Ravens on hand & Eagles next
STRENGTHS
Displays tenacity as a pass protector with a nice, wide base and desired hand placement. Handled himself pretty well against Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa. True move tight end with ability to block and catch from multiple spots on field. Reliable, soft hands and can catch contested throws.
WEAKNESSES
Play speed looks average on tape. Takes a while to get to top speed and is almost completely upright at times when getting into his breaks. Carries pad level high on wham blocks across formation and doesn't hit with force. Struggles to consistently hit targets in space and sustain in space.
NFL COMPARISON
Zach Sudfeld
BOTTOM LINE
Can line up in a variety of spots. Offers formation versatility and a willingness to do the dirty work as a blocker. He won't do much on the ground after the catch, but he has reliable hands and the competitive temperament to give himself a legitimate shot of making a roster, likely for a West Coast offense.

Aaron Hernandez had a 6.83 3-cone, too. And the Pats did ok when they drafted a QB from Kent St. in the 7th round in 2009 and converted him to WR.
The Kent State workout is over, and tight end Casey Pierce, a Combine snub, performed exceedingly well.
Pierce, who measured 6-3 1/2, 244 pounds at the Senior Bowl, ran 40 times between 4.69 to 4.74 on a fast turf. His other marks included 36.5 inches in the vertical jump, 9-10 in the broad jump, 19 reps on the bench and a short shuttle time of 4.22. He zipped through the 3-cone in hand times which ranged between 6.83 to 6.87. Only one tight end at the Combine was comparable: Blake Bell who ran a time of 6.85s.
Pierce looked good catching the ball for the 17 teams on hand, including Baltimore Ravens tight end coach Rich Angulo. The Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to work out out Pierce in the coming days.
Casey pierce their kinda guy.
What does New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick do the day after cornerback Darrelle Revis signs with the Jets?
If you guessed that he chose to attend the University of Louisville pro day, pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
Since UAB no longer has a football program, the draft-eligible prospects worked out in front of nearly 18 teams as part of Samford's pro-day.
Jamarcus Nelson, who scorched the track at the combine, sat on his 40 time from Indianapolis but looked very good catching the football.
The star of the day was little-known tight end Kennard Backman, whom I presently grade as a free agent. Backman came into the workout measuring 6035/238lbs and ran 40 times as fast as 4.57 seconds on watches (some had him in the mid-4.6-second area). His other marks included 35 1/2-inches in the vertical and 9-9 in the broad.
Backman looked incredibly athletic during the workout (he was also recruited as a basketball player) which was run by New England Patriots director of personnel Nick Cesario. Later, Backman worked out with the Philadelphia Eagles, and his schedule includes workouts with the Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts.
Samford safety Jaquiski Tartt did not participate today, rather he will hold his own workout on March 30th.
Height: 6-5
Weight: 247 pounds

CB Darryl Roberts ran 4.36/4.39, 39" vert, 11'2" broad, 6.66 cone, 4.06 shuttle. Did 28 bench reps but had 5 not counted cuz didn't lock out
