Lawrence Tynes ‏@lt4kicks 4h4 hours ago
I see that time has not healed the wounds of the Patriots faithful. Hang in there. Correct PSI is 13 equipment guys, helps stick to helmets

Wow, he's "edgy". Characteristics seem to run in the family between siblings:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Tynes

"His other brother, Mark Tynes, is serving 27 years in federal prison on drug and witness intimidation charges stemming from his 2004 involvement in a plan to move 3,600 pounds (1,600 kg) of marijuana between Texas and Florida. Tynes has sought a presidential pardon to shorten or commute his brother's sentence. He has acknowledged his brother's guilt but feels the sentence was too harsh. However, during all proceedings in Mark Tynes' trial, Mark was belligerent and uncooperative. The judge who presided at the case had parameters in which to sentence Mark and, because of his foul and unruly behavior, gave Mark the maximum sentence.[8]"

Dude...

He pretty much tells us that is the matter. How the hell can you "disagree", when you don't know jack ****?
Explain how Mike Reiss knows the definition of 'the matter' in an NFL comment better than anyone else.

I chose the word responsible deliberately. You put forth the notion that the Patriots would be morally CULPABLE no matter how the deflation occurred, which is just about the stupidest thing anyone's written on any football topic this year:

Dude I won't keep arguing semantics with you if you can't even be bothered to understand what I am writing. That isn't what i said. They would be culpable no matter how it happened, if they knew, and chose to continue without reporting it. Yes. You are absolutely morally culpable, in that case.

I just want the NFL to come out and resolve this thing one way or another. How long can this sort of "investigation" actually take? If it's baseless, I want to know soon, and have this whole thing squashed. Because as of right now, the Patriots are apparently guilty until proven innocent, at least in the media's and other fanbases' eyes.

They will always be guilty no matter what happens.

Isn't it pathetic? I disliked one of his posts one time and he went on a dislike rampage. Most of my dislikes are literally from him. What kind of loser gets that worked up over dislikes on a message board?

That's Deus for you.

I've given him a total of about 6 dings -roughly 3 Dislikes and 3 Disagrees. And Every. Single. Time. He comes out to post some version of an "oh look its my pet psychopath stalking me again" routine.

I guess he's not smart enough.. (or IS smart enough) to understand that every time he does this, the dislike I have for him is refreshed and renewed and I'm just that much more likely to call him out for this kind of pretentious bullying in the future.

Ironic thing is, I didn't even ding him for his comments as a die-hard Liberal. In fact, in this thread I've only given him a Winner for his informing us that the Jaguars were caught and warned not to heat footballs.

That's some great information right there and worth (almost) the literary McEnroe style tantrums.

I understand exactly what you're writing. I'm noting its incredible stupidity. There is nothing in the rule that charges a team with continuously insuring that appropriate PSI of the footballs.

Is this really happening? Pinch me please!!!! Have been lucky to be a Pat fan but to endure all of this cheating crap is actually so insulting. How much can we continue defending - even if it's not true. Sad.

We need to call the NFL and ask for clarification. Then call Bob Kraft and tell him to put this to rest post haste
Doubled over in laughter:)

From that, he's not defining the word "matter". He's stating that's what the matter is. In other words, they are not investigating a deflated ball, per procedure, as you have been claiming. They are investigating a Colts allegation the Patriots did it.

Pretty clear cut man. Andy, I hope you haven't dug your heels so deep into this one that if it turns out to be the case, directly from the NFL, you're going to have a breakdown or something.

They are arguing that in the rain, deflation to the football would've provided Brady with a better grip of the ball, thus an advantage over the Colts. I guess it's just .2 points under the legal pressure, so I'm guessing no-one will know the difference, except according to the expert, the QBs on the field, who are obsessed with the feel and slickness of the football.

It's official according to Yahoo Sports:

NFL spokesman Michael Signora confirmed to Yahoo Sports that the league "is looking into the matter."

Here we go again.

No, I understand the ins/outs of it, I'm just saying that it's quite a leap to suggest that the Pats did it because they knew they'd successfully be able to run the ball.

As I said, the Colts could've come out and forced N. England to throw, which would make the whole thing pointless.

Florio:
Per a league source, the Patriots officially have been informed of the investigation, and the investigation will be thorough and transparent. Consequences, if any, will come in the offseason, with a full explanation from the NFL as to what happened and why punishment was (or wasn’t) imposed.

In this specific case, the investigation will focus on whether the balls were properly weighed and measured by officials before the game started, whether anything happened while the balls were in the custody of the referee, and whether anything happened after the balls were given by the referee to the ball attendant.

The ball attendant becomes a key figure in any investigation regarding ball inflation because the ball attendant is an employee not of the league but of the team.

So do we know for sure if the footballs actually were under the legal minimum? I haven't seen this anywhere else...

According to PFT and their "league sources," the investigation will be very thorough and any punishment will be doled out in the offseason.

Get ready, b/c it's not going to be taken care of any time soon.

Edit: sorry for the repeat post.

If it was underinflated to help the run game then how did TB throw 3 TD's with said ball. The whole thing makes no sense.

Absolutely correct. Expect Ol'get along Bob to say nothing while the POS commissioner puts another one up the Pats posterior. Whatever punishment the Rats get for tampering will be half what they do to the Pats for this BS. He is happy as long as he can wear the blue shirt with the bimbo at his side.

Great now we will listen to the BS for 2 weeks. How freakin hard is it to investigate alleged underinflated balls?

Thanks for this. Does this mean we won't know the league's findings until the offseason, or that we just won't know of any potential punishment?

At this point, the Pats can't win in this. Just get ready for the game. Keep the hits coming media. PISS THEM OFF. SEATTLE will feel the pain.

So the Panthers heated balls, a direct violation that WAS in the rulebook, and Goodell's solution was to educate them without so much as a slap on the wrist. But if the Patriots are found guilty then it isn't even about the rulebook any more, and they once again they will be the poster child for all evil in the NFL.

I really, truly, hate Goodell. He is an inconsistent hypocrite at best and a conniving weasel at least.
