If this is true then I want Belichick gone. As a fan I'm beyond done with having to deal with this constant spectre of 'cheating' looming over our team. I don't care what players do off the field - I let that one go ages ago - but I do care about what happens on the field and don't want to root for a team that cheats.

But none of this makes sense to me. First off - why do you cheat? To gain an advantage but there's a risk/reward aspect. Why would you risk this blowing up in your face to beat a team you have manhandled constantly? If we were going to deflate balls we'd do it against Baltimore a team that has humiliated us at home during the playoffs.

Dean Blandino said that the balls are tested before and during the game by NFL officials. The referees in particular test the balls before the game and if they notice any abnormality during the game that ball is taken out of circulation. Honestly, it was cold and windy last night- balls are going to lose pressure.

Patriots inflate the ball to 12.5, the bare minimum, knowing they need a bit of extra grip because of the rain.

Due to the temperature, the ball will lose pressure - the Patriots ones are obviously going to come in under the minimum allowed.
