The Official Patriots vs Jets POST Game Thread

I like Blount back there beause I don't care if he gets hurt. I really don't like Blount. Not even a little.

I don't care for Blount either. He's a one trick pony as a bruising back who often doesn't perform his tricks correctly.

Dobson ran an almost identical route late, where he had drifted and looked to late for a ball already there earlier. The later play, he immediately turned his head and looked that ball right in there with laser vision.

Sorry, I have to disagree with everyone worrying about hurt feelings. we're two games into the season and tough love might be the order of the day. Battlefield promotions. I'm sorry, if these kids are going to make it in the NFL, they need to bear down and concentrate. I trust Brady to be as friendly as can be other times, but these games count.

I wish I could 'like' this twice'.

Now back to important matters. The Jets truly suck. And are not nice people.

And I hate twitter. # Twitter sucks.

Please post more post game press conf gold for us away from NE

I loved BB insisting to the refs that the Jet scum be walked out of the stadium before continuing play

BB was correct, though. Both Colon and Ferguson should have been escorted off the field immediately following their ejections. They shouldn't have even been allowed to sit down on the Jets bench.

Correction. He looks like he shoud be a bruising back. It's obvious why T-Bay gave him up for a sprinter.

And he does have a trick. Dancing in the backfield. He's the Pats dancing bear.

The Patriots are a very YOUNG team and you can guarantee that neither Belichick, Brady, Wilfork, or others are going to let them rest on their laurels about these wins. They will be talking about the screw ups (drops, wrong routes, missed coverages) for 3-4 days and also working on improving things like the rookies hands (jugs machines on OT in the dome). Then it will be on to the Bucs.

That's an excellent point in terms of almost having a sort of "benefit" that often comes with a loss.

Belichick and company will treat this game as though they lost, probably as though they got completely blown out, at least on offense. That is a good thing as it came with a win.

Obviously they have a ton of work to do, but I would have to believe that there's probably nowhere to go but up.

He was correct, but it was a slap in the face to make them leave before doing one single snap and killing the final 38 seconds.

Make no mistake, it was a slap in the face - which is why I loved it :D

I don't know how i fell going forward from this game. Our defense was not really tested against Buffalo and the Jets, so until Week 4 i won't make any calls. I know they are rookies but man there is a limit, god forbids that Julian gets hurt.

Based on what?

Bolden will be starting by week 4. Hold me to it. I'll eat crow. :)

Based on what? Gee.. I don't know. The fact that he takes stupid penalties on special teams. The fact that he can't seem to stay out of BB's dog house? The fact that he's just not that good, period. The only game Bolden did anything in last year was the Buffalo game and that's because they had a horrible run defense. YOU could have put up 100 yards rushing against that defense..

So you're not from like this planet?

Mangold is a nut-twisting d-bag. Don't get me wrong, I'd take him. But he's on the 'dirty' side. Did you think he just lost his mind for a second?

First TB isn't a leader amd now Mangold is getting the benefit of the doubt. I was be drunk-lucinating.

Even if he was pristine and lily white he doesn't get a pass for that.

As a former lineman in my youth, I don't consider being a "nut twister" in the trenches as being a "dirty player" :)

I could be wrong about this play, but it looks like Mangold launched at where Talib was, while at the same time, Talib jumped out of bounds. This put Talib further away and gravity played it's part in bringing Mangold down towards the ground.

If you've ever watched Linemen hitting blocking sleds, you've probably seen this happen many times. Guy launches at the sled, sled gets moved back, guy ends up lower than where he aimed.

He made Welker, resurrected Moss' career. I think he wants guys who work as hard as he does. Branch was awesome with Brady then fell off the face of the earth. Same with Givens. Edelman is obviously a stud. All developed by the Pats.

Why am I responding to a troll? Somebody stop me before I post again.

This debate can be closed pretty easily, just quote BB after the game:

"I think Tom’s just probably the best leader I’ve ever been around so I wouldn’t be too critical of him.”

That´s it. We don´t know how TB is with all the guys in training and what they are doing and how they are doing and discussing it. Considering how he came into the league and just took over from DB over a decade ago I assume he must have some kind of natural leadership. Guessing from things we see on TV is just plain stupid, it doesn´t mean a thing if you don´t know the background and context.

I loved Pissah's original quote but I can't find it. Yours is dandy too.

I absolutely love when they catch swearing on the team and the announcers have to act like it didn't happen.

The question is how did Mangold NOT get ejected?

Okay, I need to pass out now. Don't think the boss is going to buy that I just happen to have the flu the day after a Pats game. Although I will have the Irish flu. And I am I rish so I can make fun of my own peoples.

Good night my fellow Pats fans. And just in case I forgot, I hate the Jets. Just sayin.

I disagree and if its not stopped they won't go anywhere. Perfectionism should be focused on self improvement. He is a senior player who should show leadership, not what he showed tonight. He owes his teammates an apology for the way he acted. If this doesn't change, bad things lie ahead.

I am actually quite optimistic about the team if he does man up and realize he has to bring these guys along.

One of the reasons they are in this hole is their total lack of development of young receivers in the last 6 or 7 years. Again, what young receiver is going to thrive under that leadership?

Dr. Pain - I hate to break this to you but if you watched what Brady said on the sidelines tonight you would also have seen Brady say the following "He was ******* open". Brady is equally hard on himself and is quite vocal on the sideline and the offense also knows that Brady is as hard on himself as he is on his offensive teammates. He has been like this for quite sometime and that is why he is the leader of this team.

It would be a lot different if he wasn't hard on himself and made statements like "I have to continue to get better and take it a day at a time" like other players who continuously say that and then don't get better.

Brady and his receiving corp will get better once they get more reps which will likely come after some workouts over the next 10 days.

To me - it is clear that Brady could have used more reps with these guys in the pre-season rather than giving them to Mallett and certainly Tebow.

That's exactly how I feel too. Unless we knew all of the instances where some of these mistakes were made, it's not very fair to judge too harshly.

I agree with those who say that he was too animated at times tonight, but I also don't blame him nor do I think it's a big deal. More importantly, it's not likely to be an issue moving forward.

We should also give him credit for riding this storm out over the past couple of games and during TC/preseason. There have also been plenty of times where he didn't say a word. Scoring opportunities and repeated mistakes tend to bring out the worst in him.

Loved the defense’s attitude. Can’t stand Brady right now. Prima donna to the max. I would have loved if someone asked him what his role and responsibility is for brining alone the kids.

Tom Brady please grow up and act like a man. This is embarrassing. Oh and by the way your team just beat the JETS.

We'd hate to bruise the poor receivers self esteem. They should be lauded for trying to compete even if they spend the season ill prepared unfocused, dropping balls and letting DBs molest them without calls because their rookies,

It will pay dividends after we cut them and they regain their confidence in the arena league.

Overall I think some of us will have to accept that it might be worth it to just enjoy the ride this season and see it all unfold. There is a lot of potential here and it might work out, it also might end in disappointment.

However, ever since the last SB win we have witnessed total dominance in the regular season, very good regular seasons and good regular seasons leading into the playoffs and neither has yielded another ring, for various reasons. All the while watching superficially mediocre regular season teams bring the Lombardi home in the end. Let´s just wait and see how this version of the Patriots turns out and if this might be a path that prepares them better or different for the playoffs, afterall we have basically entered the playoffs in any possible constellation without winning it, so I will not panic because we aren´t blowing other teams away.

Enjoy the development and keep in mind, that this Patriots team of all the recent ones has probably the biggest margin of improvement in them. These are not hard times to follow this team, despite what some might want to believe right now.

Amazing that Talib wasn't seriously hurt on this.
Looks like Mangold didn't leave his feet until Talib jumped irrevocably toward out of bounds.

I don't disagree but that does not make him a leader. I know folks here are upset by what I am saying but it is true. Michael Irvin really spelled it out on the NFL network post game. This is no way to develop receivers, crushing them they way he does.

They won and the defense seemed quite happy. Once upon a time that would have been great.

The fact that you are agreeing with Michael Irvin shows you to be wrong. Irvin was a total jackarse on NFKN about it and you are being one as well. And, since you missed it (or can't be bothered to acknowledge it which makes you like Irvin) Brady admitted that he needs to get things in check himself.

Oh. One last thing. You don't know what leadership is. You've made that poignantly clear.

I couldn’t disagree more. He is a papered diva. Can you imagine working with someone like him on a team? The only person sitting with him was Josh. He needs to shut the hell up with his little drama queen act and try and lead. Destroying these kids is a great way to make sure they never amount to anything. I saw the Jets offense huddled around talking about what they were going to do and Geno showing more leadership. Brady is very talented but he shows no leadership skills at all.

Imagine working with somebody as mean as Tommy. Cleveland's a nice friendly team. I don't remember who plays there, but they're very polite and just play the regular season and leave without making some sort of big deal about it.

Yeah,we need leaders like the Jets, absolutely!

Mangold is a punk who was clearly diving into Talib's knees while he was out of bounds. He could have dove short and chose not to. He will get a fine.
