Just thought I'd post this. I have no idea who Josh Norris is. Probably no relation to Chuck Norris.

Draft 2012: The Overrated - NFL Draft Preview - Rotoworld.com

2. LSU DT Michael Brockers (6-5/306/4.95) - A handful of draftnik types named Brockers the 2012 class' top defensive tackle as soon as he declared as a redshirt sophomore. I just don't see it. Brockers plays young and raw, meaning he does not effectively use his length to create leverage or separation. Brockers faced constant single blocks as part of a vaunted LSU front, but showed little burst or quickness to beat guards, rather grinding out his limited QB pressures with sheer leg drive. Brockers has a strong lower half to anchor versus the run, but plays high off the snap and fails to use his arms or hands. To invest a top-20 selection on a player whose lone strength is upside, I'd at least want him to "flash" somewhat regularly. Brockers rarely does that.

Re: Top 10 overraated players

Norris spent 10 months interning with the Rams' scouting department in 10-11 and just finished a 6 month internship with NFL Draft Scout. He just started writing for Rotoworld in the past month.

As for his report on Brockers, I don't think raw but talented is necessarily a bad thing. Every problem he mentioned can be fixed with a good DL coach. I'd take him in the top 10 if I were picking there, and I'd trading into the early teens to pick him from the Pats' point of view. The pure talent there is just way too much to ignore.

Jared Crick over Brockers any time. Just look at the numbers when Crick was healthy.
Crick crick – Search Results – NFL Draft Take

And for Crick you dont have to trade up and give away picks.

But you have to look at this face!

I thought that its production that matters, not looks. Didnt know NFL draft was a beauty contest, but thanks for enlightening me.

You're welcome. Thanks for having no sense of humor.

Then I guess you wouldn't have drafted Tom Brady

My thoughts exactly, thats why you take the kid. He has the tools you cant coach up. With refinement he is gonna be one hell of a DT in Carolina.

I think Floyd is a little overrated. I dont see him being a great pro, but average. I beleive his problem will be getting of the ball when jammed by a db. And i am a ND fan

I hope Carolina scouts see things like this Norris guy. My biggest fear is that Carolina takes him and we don't get a chance to trade for him.

After a redshirt year in our system, you plug him in at starting DE for the next decade and he will have a career similar top if not better than Seymour's. ( pre Oakland trade)

This article has WR Blackmon as #1 on the list. Wow!

Re: Top 10 overraated players

Crick 2 gapped a lot compared to Brockers.

Neb, for the most part, runs a 2 gap D line.

That is a huge advantage for Crick. Learning the techniques to two gap in college gives him a head start over most other college DT's, including Cox and Brockers.

Look at how Deaderick got PT as a rookie for the Pats, while Warren needed a redshirt year in order to get on the field.

But in my mind, Crick's ceiling is similar to a Hamilton or Pleasant and Brockers ceiling is Seymour or above range.

Meanwhile Still and Cox are dead on Ty Warren impersonators. Add a healthy Brockers lined up opposite them, and they should have huge years rushing the QB, when all they have to beat is an ROT.

Isn't Crick a bit undersized (285 lbs) for the way BB is setting up his defensive front nowadays. It looks like 300 lbs is the absolute minimum for BB.

I doubt it. He is probably 295. He can gain 5-10lbs in his rookie year.

Yeah, brockers, the guy who didnt have a sack in his first college season. Was he then double and triple teamed too?

For him you have to give up two high picks. With those two high picks I would take Crick and Derek Wolfe, then I would take Bequette, keep Anderson, and rotate them throughout the game.

Anderson - Wilfork - Crick - Wolfe- Bequette. Now thats a great line of pass rushers.
