It's easy, and only takes a few moments.“When I said that about Belichick, I’m just letting him know I’m not intimidated by him,’’ Ryan said. “He’s got the same position I have. We’re both head coaches in this league. He just happens to have a hell of a lot more Super Bowl wins. I don’t have a win. I understand that, but we’re not going to tiptoe our way through this thing.
“You don’t line up and beat a Bill Belichick-coached team by tiptoeing in there
Seems like more of a compliment than an attack imo.
That's how I see it.
When you read the title of these threads or articles you'd think he called Belichick a cheater and a fraud.
Where or when has it ever been suggested that BB's goal is to "intimidate" other coaches? Tubby Wrecks must really be feeling intimidated if he has to keep asserting that he's not intimidated. I think he's just stirring bluster to get himself and the Green Beans some publicity.
you mean you missed that part?
seriously, tho, i read the clip too and i think he is in bb's face. the pats have used perceived disrespect and bulletin board material to motivate players for years. saying he's gonna kick the pats butts if they get motivation from that (when everyone knows they do) isn't exactly being subtle. so, while i don't read this as a ranting, raving "in your face" throw down, I do see it as provocative on Wrecks' part.
...
iam just worried about dirty phycial play from the jets defense like the ravens teams..
Exactly what I am also worried. Dirty play.
Dealing with dirty play once a season when Ravens play is more manageable than dealing with such plays twice a season, especially if the opponent coach shouts from the rooftop that his players and style are going to be more 'hard hitting' than ever. At some point, it is going to be plain dirty as compared to being just physical.
It's definitely trash talk, and he's picking on BB because he knows BB is the man right now. Doesn't bother me all that much until people start with personal attacks like Tomlinson in '06. If his team can back it up on the field good for them. But they won't
I don't get where this apparent confidence is coming from by the Jets. This is one of the most paper-thin teams in the league. They have some very good players but their depth is attrocious.
The o-line looks good but they have a few older guys like Faneca and Woody and nobody behind them.
Their WR corps looks like a joke. Cotchery is a very good #2 but is in now way a #1 and they have zero proven talent behind him.
RB is probably their deepest position with Jones, Washington, and now the rookie Greene.
At TE they have Keller who is in the big WR style TE mold. What exactly did they not like about Baker? He looks like he'd be a perfect compliment to Keller but instead they have...?
The defense looks just as bad. An injury to either Revis or Rhodes would make this secondary one of the worst in the league. I would take any of the Pats 5 projected corners over Lowery or Lito. Seriously, if Revis gets hurt the Pats might throw up 70 on those guys.
Again at DL their is very little room for error. It makes you appreciate having the depth we do at this position.
As with RB on O, the LB position is probably their strongest on D. But there are even question marks there after the starters (and their best OLB Pace is out for the 1st 4 games). It is still a toss up as to who has the better career, Gholston or Crable. At least if our guy busts he was a 3rd rounder on a cheap contract. Vern is a disaster from a money/production standpoint.
I could easily see this team being last place in the East. Maybe Fatty should worry more about intimidating the Bills in their battle for 3rd place.

as much of an idiot that i think Ryan is, i do think he knows how to get the best out of a D and even make it overachieve; so, i wouldn't be so sure about your read on that side of the ball. on offense, one big gap is at WR and the Jets are working the phones to fill the hole; latest rumor is Sinorice Moss if the Giants don't need him.
Sanchez, assuming that Ryan can't control himself and makes him starter to play to the hearts of the same moronic fanbase that welcomed Favre with open arms, is the big question mark. Personally, I don't think that lightening strikes twice in the first round of the same draft at the same position and that Stafford will emerge as the star of the 2009 first round but that Ryan will ride the Sanchez express until the day he is fired. the loser in this is Clemens, not that he's a Matt Cassell in hiding but that he's not getting a shot. i don't know his contract status, but he'll be a good pickup for someone.
as for the battle for third place, i think the dolphins are more likely to be fighting for that than the bills, who i think will be respectable this year.
