Would a Jets win to advance NE into the playoffs lighten your hatred of them?

Hate the Dolphins YES.....Hate the Jets NO....The Jets have been our door mats for the past several years....The Jets are going to beat the Dolphins this week to show their love for us.

should probably preface my comment by saying that I don't hate the Jets or anything. They're not good enough to be our legitimate rivals. That said I don't particularly like them because of their role in screwing us over before the 96 super bowl and in cameragate. And yes, I will dislike them slightly less if they help to get us into the playoffs.

But if the Jets win their game after/if the Patriots beat the Bills, would your hatred of them lighten a little to maybe upgrading to just a disliking of them? or would you still hate them with a passion,even if they help us get closer to a SB?

I'll be a little less grumpy if they put their heart and soul into the game.

But if they lay down and let Miami roll over them then it will be inexcusable. It'll show them to still be the petty idiots they are.

Im rooting for NYJ @ home and see Brett making solid decisions, great coaching/plays against this tight match-up. Brett needs to not throw any INT's and play smart-maybe even run his ass off foe some 1st downs, like the old days if needed.

The NYJ D will need to come up BIG against Miami's offense though. I would love to see some pressure on Pennington. Everytime he opens his mouth, I feel like vomiting.

My dislike of the JETs really has to do their fans and management.
They've got some really good players. If the players pick themselves
up after that loss last week and fight and beat the fins I will have
lots of respect for the players.
I just know the players won't be doing it for the RAT they'll being doing it
for their honor.

I'll give them a modicum of respect if they beat the Phish but I will never, ever be an AOG fan.

I just think the Phish are a better than the AOG's at this point and should beat them hands down.

I don't "Hate" the Jets ... I dislike them very much ( Hate is such a strong word). I don't have a problem cheering for them to beat the Dolphins because that is a benefit to us! However, as soon as the game is over, I will revert back to disliking them ... I will have more respect for them if they don't lie down and play the Phins tough, but dislike them all the same.

It's a no win situation for the Jets and their fans. Win and you let the Pats in (assuming we win at Buffalo), lose and you let the player you cut in favor of Favre beat you! I don't see the Jags beating the Ravens in Baltimore.

I don't hate the Jets, in fact, I was brought up in a Jet's household in Queens NY, and brainwashed until I was 13 (in 1975), and then became a Pat's fan. My most hated teams are Colts, Steelers, Dolphins, Cowboys & Raiders (the last 2, come from a deep seeded hatred in the 1970's). I dislike the Chargers, but mainly due to their fans. Oddly enough, the Giants have been my favorite NFC team since 1980, so last years SB was quite odd. I was rooting for the Giants all through the playoffs, and then rooted against them hard in the SB, quite strange.

The Jets will be rooting hard against us in the 1pm game, and then try to win the division. They aren't out to be well liked by Pats fans.

It the Patriots don't make the playoffs, it's all on them for losing 2 division games and not pulling out the Colts game. If they make it, it's because the other teams weren't good enough to claim it themselves. That's all.

Not at all. Mind you, I don't give much of a rat's arse about the Jet players. They come from all over the country, just as your Patriots do.

What I really hate are the JETS FANS! Can you spell obnoxious? Now, should the Pats win the division this weekend, just think how sweet it would be that those same Jets fans would know that they're team winning the game that day directly caused the hated Pats to win the division for 6th season in a row?

Same here for the most part. I guess our success has alot to do with it compared to others. I hate Ratgini, but I truly find it hard to hate an inept franchise who won't be of any threat to us when we're reasonably healthy again. I hated Miami and Bufalo somewhat when they were good, and this is the first time in a while either was any kind of threat.

If the Jets win, I don't care who they're doing it for I'll owe them a debt of gratitude. Same went for the Steelers when they beat the Ravens. When I think of teams like Dallas that folded like a cheap tent when we needed their help it would make me appreciate the effort put forth if they beat Miami.
