OK, we all miss TFB, and all the other starters that have been unfortunately injured, but this has been a fun season. When TFB went down in the 1st quarter, I'd say atleast 80% of people wrote off the season and SB hopes. The bandwagoners jump off, and we're in a 4 way race for 1st place. Last year was fun to watch with the undefeated hopes, but their weren't many crucial games after winning the first 8 or so. Now every game is important and exciting as hell. Also, it's fun to watch people step up. The first couple weeks of the season with Cassel compared to now is unbelievable. He's progressing right in front of our eyes. This season have taught me a lot about the heart of this team and the mind-set. They rallied around Cassel when Brady went down, and we seem to be losing someone to IR each week and everybody keeps stepping up and getting the job done. The Pats are proving the haters wrong and still showing they are contenders without TFB.

I know there is more to say, but nothing comes to mind right now.

Cheers to the rest of the Pats fans to an exciting and fun 2nd half of the season:)

I have loved this season I remember back in 03 when we won games with field goals and good game management games were more fun when I thought we might loose. Don't get me wrong I loved going 16-0 but I never felt we would loose. Feel good to win close games.

It's been great - but we need to beat the Manginas this week. A loss to them at home will dull any excitement this season has generated. Jets games are MUST wins.

I love football, it has not been the same with out Tom Brady, but still enjoy the Pats..

Last year was fun watching this team annihilate opponents until the damn SB

This year is interesting - Not fun...not yet - Fun begins when the playoffs are near and the Patriots are a serious participant ....Or shall I say IF they are by then

One crazy season and you have to enjoy every twist and turn along the way. This team has proven to be so resilant and if things continue on pace this season will be one for the ages and that says alot with the way things have been around here lately.

It's just as much fun as last season.

I disagree - after 3 Super Bowls in 4 years, each year following ended in disappointment, and last year was the mother of all disappointments. Now, with lowered expectations, just winning regular season games and being in the playoff hunt is fun again.

It's different. I can't say its been real fun, theres been a lot of ups and a lot of downs.

Its just like a throwback to the old Patriots. Time management, beat you down. I like it. The AFC east is how it was in the early years, even better. Its been a very fun season, considering we expected it to be over in week 1.

I'll say, it was damn stressful running the table last year. Every game felt like some major statement against the world. The 2007 season became larger than the team, larger than the players. It was the kind of football that puts grey hairs on your head.

This year has been a welcome break for me. It is relaxing to watch football again. Without the expectation to win every week is a greater appreciation for the game itself.

Personally, I am ready for a return to 2007-like dominance, but I needed this break, and as things stand I will feel always feel good about this season.

I find myself more nervous and excited this year than I was last year. I find the coaching this year to be the best I have ever seen, except for the Indi game. Belichick and Co are doing great job offensively, they have taken the air out of the ball a little too much maybe but as long as they keep winning I can handle the 12 yard outs.

One thing I am sick of seeing is the screen/lateral pass to Welker that seems to be getting blown up lately.

Defensively I am a little worried. They don't put pressure consistently and the the defensive backfield isn't good enough to be effective without that pressure. I was encouraged this week, they threw a few more exotic type blitzes at the Bills, but that might have been just something they saw would work in the films.

All in all this has been a totally enjoyable season so far. They have played well, except in a couple of early games and they seem to have accepted Matt as their leader. The next couple of games are critical. If they beat the Jets and Miami they should win the East, if they can beat Pittsburg they will win the east and might get a bye. After the Steelers game we have Seattle, Oakland, Arizona and Buffalo to finish the season. Lets assume that they are 8 -4 heading into that final stretch, they will need to win 3 of those 4 to ensure the division. With a win over the Steelers we own the tie breaker, and 12 and 4 probably gives us the bye.

Me, I'm ready for these guys to overachieve and win it all, so we can go into next season saying "Okay no more Mr. Nice Guy, we got our starting QB back :)"

Okay in all seriousness, it is kinda FUN knowing that it matters if you win this game or that game, and thinking about staying 1 game up so tiebreakers can't screw you and all that.

Maybe this is what the doctor ordered after last year, after the Super Fail. It's certainly a way to rejuvenate the team, as they get to play to prove something, not to "defend" what people think about them.

Every season is fun, but this season is somewhat different. It just feels like the Pats have more to prove this year without Brady. It's fun seeing all the "experts" backtrack on their predictions that the Pats were doomed as they continue to win.

Yeh, all the people saying we'll be 6-10 w/o Brady... I mean QB is the most important season in sports.... but turning 10 wins into losses per season single-handedly, in a TEAM game?

I never did think "doomsaying" would be accurate... I always thought a dogfight for the playoffs was the most accurate "prediction," going back to the Miami game.

Not nearly as fun as last year. This year sucks compared to last year. I like this year, don't get me wrong - I have been pleasantly suprised. But last year we were so dominant and, personally, I like when my team intimidates the heck out of the opposition and crushes the life out of them.

I think this year is incredibly intriguing and good old fashioned fun for anyone who hadn't become so addicted to frontrunning that it ruined their ability to appreciate anything short of constant perfection and continuous success... Junior loved to talk about the "journey" that each season is for the team. I think too many fans had lost sight of that as the presumptive end result had become to them some sort of given...

But isn't what just happened to the Bills about as soul-crushing as you could ask for? I mean, it's not like that last marathon drive had Tom Brady tossing the pigskin or Adrian Peterson running the ball. It was a still-green QB handing off to a UDFA . . . and the Bills simply had no answer whatsoever.

While I'm enjoying the season, and enjoying watching the development of Cassel, Mayo, et al, it hasn't been as much fun as last season was, and I look forward to this team becoming a threat to go undefeated again next season. The injury bug is just taking too much of the fun out of this season for me to really get into it the way I was into last season.

As a die hard fan since the dark days of the late 60s, its been loads of fun this year.

All the seasons have been fun lately - the last few endings have been hard but life goes on. The 2008 team has been very competitive. The games have been entertaining. And newcomers have come in and played surprisingly well.

And for those of us now living out of New England, the new media keeps us involved and informed. The dark days of Kapp, Chung and media blackouts are long gone.

On the other hand, if the hated Jets win on Thursday, all my sunny appreciation is out the window.

Go Pats!!

I'd much rather be watching Brady absolutely dominate the NFL right now.

We're in the hunt right now, which is what I expected with this team when Brady went down. When Brady retires, when Belichick leaves, there'll be plenty of seasons where we'll be in the hunt and it'll be exciting. There aren't going to be many seasons of pure domination, football excellence, and seeing two players (Brady and Moss) turn the game into an art form. There's no getting over what we were deprived of even if this season has been both satisfying and entertaining.
