I don't want to put Bledsoe down.
He was a pretty productive and exciting player in his prime here.
I just think that, if you're objective about it, you would probably accept that in the latter years he did not adapt his game to account for his diminishing skills well enough to compete with Brady.

If Bledsoe had entered the league 20-30 years earlier I think he'd have been a shoe-in HOFer. Imagine him in the classic Raiders offense -- sit back in the pocket (behind an OL that doesn't have to worry about free agency and salary caps) and wait for the burners (who don't have to worry about free agency and salary caps) to get free down the field. And the defenses were simpler back then.

I think he just didn't/couldn't process things fast enough in today's game. And then with the cap and free agency making it impossible for a team to get and keep a full set of high-level parts, you couldn't get everything "just right" for Bledsoe.
