Default WTF Green

Green had a horrible game .

Bills game plan was seal vince and ty with a te,gaurd, center and tackle
then the left gaurd did not bother chip blocking green and was in the backfield
sealing the LB.

Green was schooled by a 7th rd draft pick in his first start. He was on 1 on 1 match up and did nothing.

then they just ran right at green with no LB pursuit as the gaurd was sealing the inside edge

screen passed the inside screen too.

The who DL looked bad because of this, they ran away from Ty and vince and had the right side all game.

next week we face d.brick who gets smacked around by seymour every year and is a way better LT then the bills..... i am worried what he is going to do.

unless the pats show they can stop this simple setup look for thomas jones/washington in the backfield.

I was really missing Big Sey last nite, and I thought Green stood out in a negative way on a couple plays in the first half. I have always said - and its backed up the #'s - that there is a massive drop-off between Seymour and Green when it comes to run defense. I trust in Belichick, but I can't help but wonder if the Raiders offered a deal so sweet that it is going to make life harder on this defense this season.

Of course it's going to make life harder this year. The point is, they're still a SB contender, AND they added a 2011 1st, instead of being a slightly better SB contender and letting Seymour get away for nothing.

Last night, the Bills RB's gained 65 yards on 17 carries for a 3.82 yards per attempt.

This may be hard to fathom but NFL offenses will get positive yardage on some plays.

The one area that was bad was Edwards and his mobility. I don't know if that is part of the "new" Bills because I don't remember him being mobile.

But it's not for nothing:

a) we get a year of Seymour's service, most importantly
b) we'd probably get a 3rd round comp pick for him, depending upon how many FAs we sign and whatnot
c) if there's no new CBA, we will be heavily restricted in free agency, particularly when it comes to signing other team's players. since we expect to be one of the top teams in the league, we'll be handcuffed to only signing FA equaling those we lost. losing big sey in FA would allow us to go after another big FA if we wanted to. now, we can't.

And frankly, I don't think the Raiders are as bad as people think, sure, will the pick be top 10? Maybe. But I don't think its worth it, we have enough of a youth movement already.

Don't try to sell that here... Too many disappointed fans looking for someone to blame for a lousy 1 point win and their season being ovah.

I don't think its overreaction to watch last nite's game and be missing Seymour. Green is just not as good a player as Big Sey, there is no disputing that. The defense played fairly well, the secondary looked great, and the pass rush looked good when they teed off at the end. But was Big Sey missed? I'd say absolutely.

Again you see no issues with a 7th rd LT making his start handling him 1 on 1 ?.

I am asking him to decent against a rookie 7th RD rookie who got the job after they fired the starting LT last week .So this guy was not even in the starting rep in training camp.

Enough with this. NFL starters are capable of playing well on any given Sunday. The guy played well. Green isn't Seymour, but we've seen in the past that the dropoff is not severe.
