Because the best way to have chemistry and camaraderie in the locker room is to tell your players to have it.

Doesn't seem like Ryan can control Holmes enough to not mock the Jets' two QB strategy during the offseason. What makes him think he will be able to control Holmes if and when the Jets go on a three game losing streak and he is catching 4 balls a game?

Ryan guarantees the Jets will try their best, or at least very hard. And he also guarantees that the Jets will attempt to win the division from the Patriots, although it will be a tough task. Finally, he boldly proclaims that when the Jets play the Patriots, the Patriots will not score in the first three minutes of the game, hopefully.

Why would his catches increase?

After last season, it might be easier for him if he guarantees a Superbowl win.

Putting the lockers closer together probably won't help much on the football field

Well we know that it is NOT going to happen because he has yet to keep a promise

Just wait its early yet. The other day he said he was going to keep his mouth shut, then he came out and said he was the best Defensive coach in football. He can't help himself he has a fetish for toes and running his mouth.
