1) Resigned Curt Schilling to a 1 year, 8 million dollar contracts with incentives to kick it up to 14 million.
2) Resigned Mike Lowell to a 3 year, 37.5 million dollar contract.
3) Resigned Mike Timlin to a 1 year, 3 million dollar contract.
Predicted Moves
1) Acquire Johan Santana from the Minnesota Twins for Jon Lester, Coco Crisp, Jed Lowrie, Justin Masterson and a player to be named later. Santana signs a 6 year, 132 million dollar extension.
2) Sign Doug Mirabelli to a 1 year, 800k dollar deal.
3) Sign Ryan Klesko to a 1 year, 1.2 million dollar deal.
4) Sign Bobby Kielty to a 1 year, 1 million dollar deal.

Look, the Sox aren't stupid. They know they can get the best pitcher in baseball, and if they have him and Beckett, they will be amazing for years. The Twins aren't stupid either. They like the Sox offer, but they want to make sure they can get full value for him. No way they let him walk for nothing at the end of the season. There is open dialogue between both teams because the Twins are saying, yeah we'll take your offer, but we want to make sure there is nothing out there. The Sox don't need to get more pitching, so they aren't setting a deadline. It would not surprise to me see a deal done around christmas.
