I'm glad some people on this board are noticing Frantz. He's my homer binky for this draft (i go to Florida-Atlantic). Honestly, the kid has been our Jerod Mayo. He's number 2 in the nation for tackles. I know this past summer the Vikings, Chiefs, Steelers, Bucs, and Patriots sent scouts down here to look at him and a couple of other seniors. Yes, he is as good as advertised and us Owl fans are irate that he didn't get a combine invite.. (how do go second in the nation in tackles and not get an invite?). He's a down to earth kid with a great motor and heart.

While he's a little undersized I think he'd make a great special teamer and then maybe try and build from there.

At this point i just want to see him get drafted we've only had a football team for 8 years and have yet to have a player get drafted or be on an active NFL roster. I'd be ecstatic if the Patriots picked him he's of quality character. Our coach Howard Schnellenberger is coaching the U.S. team in the U.S. Vs. Texas game so you can expect to see a lot of Frantz. We are really going to miss him in Boca.

He's not extremely deep, but I like CB Deangelo Smith out of Cincy as a late-round guy. I also second the Bernard Scott mention.

Frantz Joseph FAU 6' 1 1/2"/243, 9 3/8" hands, 33 3/8" arms puts him 4 pounds lighter than Bruschi with long arms (Frantz's arms are 1/8" longer than 6'5" Michael Oher). Physically he has all the tools need to play for NE at ILB, the thing I'll be looking for is his ability to stack and shed an OL. Bruschi made his living by being very good with his hands to swat the OL's hands away and slither around them for make the tackle. Since he's slowed down, he's had to take them on more directly and hasn't been as effective. Mayo is currently taking on OL head-on and trying to shed them, hopefully the offseason program will allow him to work on his hand technique and he'll be able to use some of his quickness to slither by the OL. Frantz, based on his new weigh-in numbers and on-field performance (one game I've seen so far) is a better candidate for NE than James Laurinaitis. Where teams are going to grade him lower is his speed and coverage, just remember most of them are looking for sideline-to-sideline MLBs who can run with WRs. Keep the faith, FAU will get their first "drafted" player this time around.

Mentioned in a previous post, but I'd love it if this guy got invited to camp:
Frank Summers*|*UNLV,*RB*:*2009 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile

A fireplug at 5-9, 245 (and probably a little heavier). Caught 13 passes last year at UNLV. Frank the Tank would be fun to watch.

Also at RB, Curtis Brinkley*|*Syracuse,*RB*:*2009 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile : over 1,000 yards rushing in 2008 on a mediocre team. Nice change-of-pace player.

Whoa, whoa...I love Brinkley, and what he's accomplished on that team, but Syracuse has a long, long way to go before they get to mediocre.

absolutely insane production.......the biggest thing is the 110 passes he has caught
He plays Division II football. Thats a big reason for the inflated numbers. I'm not saying that he couldn't turn out good, but that's certainly a red flag. He hasn't exactly faced the stiffest competition at the college level.

Bernard also carries some character red flags.

"He did not play his senior season after being involved in an off-field fight. He has been arrested at least five times and is finishing 18 months of probation for giving false information to a police officer during a traffic stop. He is attending his fourth college since 2003."
