And if you don't think Ray Lewis is a great LB, then you're missing out.
We can agree to disagree, but Ray 'pile jumper' Lewis made a big deal 3 or so years back about wanting Baltimore to play a 4-3 so he would be protected from blockers. Since then Baltimore has primarily played a 4-3, though they do drop Suggs in zone blitzs. I haven't read Baltimore's depth chart, I get my information from news stories discussing Ray's desires, and watching the games where I see Kelly Greg and Haloti Nagta lined up as 4-3 DTs. Phil Savage made a huge mistake by letting Baltimore draft Nagta - Romeo got hosed over big time by that fool.

as for the Jets....THEY dont even know what they want themselves
SF has been playing a 3-4 on my TV screen. Where they go from here is up to Singletary.
The Jets have their DC and their DL coach under contract and until they choose a new HC, they are still geared towards the Mangini plan. If young Schotty gets the job, he may not mess with what was starting to develop as an adequate 3-4 defense. Let's face it, the Jester's primary weakness for some time has been at QB, last season was just an escalation of their deterioration at the position - Hail Tanennbaum!

I believe the issue before when the Ravens first switched to a 3-4 when Nolan was their DC was that the 3-4 Nolan installed was a 2 gap system. Similar to what the Pats run. In that system, LBs are called on to take on blockers and that was what Lewis was complaining about. When Nolan left, and Ryan came in, he now runs a one gap 3-4, similar to what Pittsburgh run. It's an attacking 3-4 defense and calls the LBs shoot the gaps. San Diego also runs a one gap 3-4 and so do the Cowboys. Jets, Browns, and 49ers played two gap along with the Pats.

I'm sure Baltimore would favor a one-gap 3-4, but even then Ray wouldn't be protected from blockers - when I watch Baltimore I usually see them playing 4-3, that way they can put those two big run stuffers inside and let their atheltic LBs run to the edge to cut down the runs outside.

Sometimes their one of their OLBs will get in a three point stance so you'll see 4 down linemen. Just like sometimes we see Vrabel/Colvin in a three point stance. But their base defense is a 3-4.
I see that the Turkeys are getting up-rated. With the exception of Sophomore Sam Bradford, who is way too immature, there are ZERO QBs this year, that would rate a 3rd rounder in a normal year.
If the Lions are stupid enough to draft Stafford they will have the second coming of Alex Smith or whazisname that they BUSTed with before...
Maybe the JEST will draft a QB high; the have precisely nooobody!

Because that is a website run by the NFL, not by the Ravens. Not everything that is posted there is 100% correct.
As I said, Haloti Ngata is their NT, not a DE. That, right there, should tell you its not 100% accurate. I mean, just look at the Patriots Depth chart:
There is at least 4 things wrong with it. And that is NOT including the fact that neither Seau nor Colvin are listed on it and that Thomas and Woods are both still listed.

Yep, noticed that myself a time or two, which doesn't change what I've seen from Baltimore.
